- According to Dr. Enrico Castellacci, official doctor of the Italian National team, Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has problems with his left knee "meniscopia." Marchisio will remain with the Italian squad two or three days to see his improvement. Evaluation will be done on Friday and see whether he will be able to play or not.If not able to play, he will continue his medical treatment with the doctors of Juventus.

Afternoon training session was closed doors.

Time for the Press Conference with players of the Italian National team, gli Azzurri. It's the turn of Italy and AS Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi to share his thoughts.
- Here is the situation guys. Italy needs only 1 point to qualify for the 2010 World Cup while the Republic of Ireland will need all 3 points to secure the second position of the group.
- De Rossi says that five days ago they will talking about seeing a full stadium in Dublin. It will be a similar environment to that we found in Scotland. Ireland will play their best because they need the points while for us is not the last game to qualify because we still have the match against Cyprus.
On the Republic of Ireland Coach Giovanni Trapattoni
He is a coach who has done great things in his career. Now, Trapattoni even brought Ireland to highest levels. He has always obtained results.
On AS Roma Francesco Totti.
It will be a nice surprise to see Totti returning to the Italian National team. Though this is only a hypothesis. I don't think Totti will remain indifferent to the fascination of the World Cup. At 33 years old he made his decision and takes responsibility. When Totti left the Nazionale, he made it clear that he was leaving because he could not play 60 games per year. Now, we know he was right, although back then I thought it was because he had some problems with Donadoni.
On Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano
Among all Italian forwards, Cassano is the most talented and funny. Yet, if we look at gols made, the forwards who are here with the National team have scored more, or even other forwards who were also not calle dup. It will be a problem of Lippi.
On Coach Roberto Donadoni
Guys, De Rossi trained with Donadoni for 2 years when he was the head coach of the Italian National team. De Rossi says, "I am sorry he was sacked, our football does not know how to wait. There is too little patience and this is not only valid for Donadoni. This is not common outside Italy. Yet, nobody has the magical bacchetta, four weeks are not enough to judge a coach. It's necessary to have two or three years project.

Italy and Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie commented that " the emotion of the World Cup is getting closer. It's a wonderful competition for every player and it is my dream too. It's nice to meet again Trapattoni. He was the first coach to have faith in me. He gave me the opportunity to play. If we go to Ireland to play the decisive match, it means that Trapatttoni and his squad have done a great round for qualification.
