Good morning, buon giorno.  It's the first day training of the Italian National team in Coverciano on Tuesday, October 6.  Here is what is happening with the Azzurri according to the schedule of the Italian Football Federation for the prepartion of the 2010 World Cup qualifier games against Ireland and Cyprus on October 10 and October 14, respectively.

- Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi gives resting time in the morning training session for precaution to goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio. Doctor Enrico Castellacci says their condition will be evaluated in the next hours and might start training in the afternoon.  Marchisio has some problem with his knee and not sure whether he will play against Ireland. Buffon made only a brief training separately.

- Confirmed the integration of Italy captain and defender Fabio Cannavaro joining the team until Sunday, October 11 since he is suspended for the match against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, October 10.

-  Morning training session included warm up, session in the gym, athletic drills including running, stretching and exercises with Gaudino the athletic instructor. 

- Afternoon training session scheduled at 16:30 but it will be closed doors.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) informs that there will be a minute of silence before the games against the Republic of Ireland and Cyprus on October 10 and October 14, respectively in memory of the victims of Messina.
