NAPOLI - UDINESE
San Paolo Stadium
Serie A Standing:
  Napoli 14th position, 3 points
                              Udinese 7th position, 4 points

Hello, hello, hello oh my gosh!!!!  Guys, here is the emotional match for Napoli forward Fabio Quagliarella playing against his ex UDINESE!!!!  You also see "Napoli born" Udinese forward Antonio "TOTO" Di Natale who is the current top scorer of the Serie A now playing against his home city team.

You bet I won't miss this mat at all.  Napoli must win this match at the San Paolo not only for the fans but also because Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis is not "happy at all" with their latest performance. I am afraid that a defeat might even mean the "good bye Donadoni." Last round Napoli was humiliated
Genoa  4 - 1 Napoli.

Udinese heading to San Paolo with a positive mood winning last week Udinese 4 - 2 Catania
with a hattrick from Di Natale.

Ouch!  Two suspended players for Napoli Hugo Campagnaro and Salvatore Aronica. As for Udinese, the only doubt might be Gokhan Inler if he recovers to play at least one half, if not, then it will be Paolo Sammarco to be in the starting lineup.

Here is the thing guys.
Napoli and Udinese have played a total of 31 games in Napoli  including in the Serie A, Serie B and Coppa Italia.

18 victories Napoli
  9 draws
  4 victories Udinese
53 gols Napoli
33 gols Udinese

Wow, if we look at the records. last time Udinese beat Napoli  in the San Paolo was back on January 21, 2001 with a goal by Sosa!!!! Hum! So, hello, it's been 8 years!!!! OUCH....   ooops, just hold your horses because  there might be a draw. Yep!   last draw from in the San Paolo  was on January 31, 2009 2-2 with goals from Hamsik and Lavezzi and Di Natale and Quagliarella.

A victory will be a boost to any  of the teams because next week Napoli  will play against Inter and Udinese against AC Milan.

Here are the probable formations:

NAPOLI (3-5-2): Morgan
De Sanctis; Santacroce, P.Cannavaro, Contini; Maggio, Gargano, Cigarini, Marek Hamsik, Datolo; Ezequiel "El Pocho" Lavezzi, Fabio Quagliarella

U
DINESE (4-3-3):   Handanovic; Zapata, Coda, Felipe, Lukovic; Isla, D’Agostino, Gokhan Inler; Pepe, Floro Flores, Antonio Di Natale

FC JUVENTUS - AS LIVORNO
Olimpico Stadium Turin
Serie A Standing:
FC Juventus 2nd position, 9 points
AS Livorno 17th position, 2 points

Ok, let's pause here ... Juventus is rocking big time in the Serie A winning all their 3 games having a total 9 points and a positive goal difference of +5. Yet, the draw yesterday in the Olimpico di Torino for the UEFA Champions League Group Stage match was a bit of a cold shower
FC Juventus 1 - 1 Bordeaux.  Juventus need to put "that draw" in the past and receive Livorno with their winning attitude, period.  Last week a victory for Juve LAZIO 0 - 2 FC JUVENTUS

Livorno will go to Turin with a positive attitude after keeping a draw last week
AS Livorno 0 - 0 AC Milan.  If Livorno manages to kep a draw in the Olimpico, you better believe it it will be like a victory  but devastating for Juventus.

Guys, the stats are in favor of Juventus. Juventus and Livorno have played a total 30 games:

21 victories Juventus
  6 draw
  3 victories Livorno

Challenge is for Livorno forwards to blast  Italy and Juve goalkeeper Gigi Buffon!   Knock, knock, anybody home?  This won't be easy considering that Livorno has scored only one single goal by Cristiano Lucarelli while keeping a goalless draw against AC Milan and Cagliari while losing against Napoli.

Let's put it this way guys. It might be crazy but Livorno have pretty good chances to get another draw. Yep! Well, Juve players might be tired after playing with Bordeau, Cannavaro is out injured, midfielder Diego also out injured, Del Piero also injured... so take your guess and you bet Livorno coach Russo must take advantage of maybe a weaker formation to pull the draw.  Defender Zdenek Grygera might make it but not sure on Portuguese midfielder Tiago.

This will be the moment for Juventus forward David Trezeguet to keep his scoring lead by delivering a winning goal. Also, young midfielder Sebastian Giovinco might be in the starting lineup and come on "formica atomica" let's make the most of this match.

Here are the probable formations:

FC Juventus:
Gigi B
uffon; Martin Caceres, Nicola Legrottaglie, Giorgio Chiellini, Fabio Grosso; Mauro Camoranesi, Felipe Melo, Marchisio; Giovinco; Vincenzo Iaquinta, David Trezeguet

AS Livorno:
De Lucia; Raimondi, Perticone, Miglionico, Vitale; Pulzetti, Mozart, Moro; Candreva; Tavano, Lucarelli

PARMA - PALERMO
Ennio Tardini Stadium
Serie A Standing:
  Parma 9th position, 4 points
                              Palermo 8th position, 4 points

Here is a matter for Parma to win or win, period, no point of discussion.  Although Parma and Palermo have same 4 points,  Palermo han even goal difference while Parma has a -1 goal difference. Parma lost last week in the Meazza after testing Inter to finally succumb
FC Inter 2 - 0 Parma. Playing at home can help  Parma grab the victory. Hello, hello, hello.. there is ex Palermo defender Zaccardo and is not that he will allow free space for his ex team. On the contrary, it's the moment for Zaccardo to show his worth after transferring from Wolfsburg.   Let's see what palermo coach Walter Zenga can prepare to upset Parma in the Tardini.

Palermo needs also a victory after their disappointing draw last week at the Renzo Babera: Palermo 1 - 1 Bari. A victory will be an energizer to receive next week AS Roma in the Barbera. While Parma will go next week to the Olimpico in Rome to play against Lazio.

The ex Palermo players: Christian Zaccardo, Davide Lanzafame, Ivan  Dellafiore and Stefano Morrone. The ex Parma player is forward Igor  Budan who might start from the bench despite scoring a goal last week.

Zaccardo is ready to battle even against Palermo as his desire is  to give his best to  be back  with the Italian National team.   Hey, I am all for it.   Forza Zaccardo.   So, it will be a delight to watch how Zaccardo might stop Palermo forwards Fabrizio Miccoli and Edison Cavani.  That's a challenge!

Good thing for Parma is the fit young forward Alberto Paloschi.  Guys, Paloschi is growing with every game improving individual technique. Palermo defenders will be pretty busy stopping Paloschi.

In the practice match game today "closed doors" for Palermo against the youth team, good results.  Palermo beat 3-2 the youth team scoring Bertolo, Migliaccio and Levan Mchedlidze.

Problems for Palermo  includes injuries from Giovanni Teesco and Fabio Liverani.
Not participating in the trainings is forward Abel Hernandez who was called up by Uruguay for the FIFA Under 20 Championship in Egypt.

Palermo forward Abel Hernandez Called Up for Uruguay for the FIFA Under 20 World Cup Egypt 2009

Best shots for Parma besides Paloschi are Stefano Morrone and Jonathan Biabiany.

Here are the probable formations:

Parma:
Mirante; Zaccardo,Christian  Panucci, Paci, A.Lucarelli; Morrone, Mariga, Galloppa; Lanzafame, Biabiany, Alberto Paloschi

Palermo: Rubinho; Cassani, Simon Kjaer, Bovo, Federico Balzaretti; Nocerino, Blasi, Bertolo; Pastore; Edison Cavani, Fabrizio Miccoli

While many expected Inter to win their home Champions League game against Barcelona, the result was an upsetting goalless draw:
FC Internazionale 0 - 0  Barcelona

Challenge is to break the fortress of the Sant'Elia.  Cagliari this season not looking that strong as they did last season.  Without striker Robert Acquafresca, Cagliari seems not able to present a strong attack.  Right now Cagliari is the one with the pressure to win at home considering they have only 1 point !  Last week they lost against Fiorentina too:
Fiorentina 1 - 0  Cagliari

Inter managed a late victory guaranteeing 3 points in the Meazza last week:
FC Inter 2 - 0 Parma.

Guys, it's also the return of former Cagliari forward David Suazo too.  Though  not sure on whether Mourinho will use him the 90 minutes.

Oh my gosh, talking about  strikers having motivation. Guys,  Cagliari  has only scored 1 goal this season. Yet, today, the  practice game there were 15 goals!!!!!  Say what?   Yes, you are reading right, 15 goals!!!!!  Goals: 2' Dessena, 28', 39' and 44' Nenè, 47' and  58' Larrivey, 59' Brkljaca, 60'Larrivey, 72' Jeda, 74' Cossu, 77' Larrivey, 82' Jeda, 83' Larrivey,85' Cossu, 88' Larrivey.

Question is now for Larrivey on whether he will start scoring where it counts not only on practice games.  What about Nene'?  He will be an instant hero if delivering a winning goal against Inter.  A victory for Cagliari means that Inter remain with 7 points and risking going down the ladder....

Guys, this is the chance  maybe for Cagliari coach Allegretti  to give more  playing time to forward Nene side by side with young Alessandro Matri.    Too bad  Cagliari has  two important  players injured Diego Lopez and Francesco Pisano.

Can Inter pull  a victory ????  well, I think so...  It depends also on whether Inter coach Jose Mourinho will use a turnover and rest some of his top players too.  Even if winning, they will still be behind. So, for the defending Italy's champions they  best result is for Juve, Genoa, and Sampdoria to either lose or draw.  The point is that Inter needs to recover points to command since the beginning the Table... can they catch up?

Here are the probable formations:

CAGLIARI:
Marchetti; Marzoratti, Canini, Astori, Agostini; Barone, Conti, Biondini; Cossu; Matri, Jeda

FC Inter: Julio Cesar; Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Chivu; Zanetti, Cambiasso, Muntari; Quaresma, Suazo, Balotelli

If Milan needed an energizer to climb the Serie A table, they got it!   Guys, motivation for AC Milan right now is at the top after winning their away game of the 2009 - 2010 UEFA Champions League
Olympique Marseille 1 - 2 AC Milan.
Super show by forward Filippo Inzaghi and Leonardo might even found his "ideal formation" which to the disappointment for AC Milan president Berlusconi, it seems that Ronaldinho might be destined to the bench.

In the Serie A, the rossoneri got a a goalless draw last week
AS Livorno 0 - 0 AC Milan.
Bologna will try to repeat a victory in San Siro as they did last season when they silenced San Siro in Week 1 AC Milan 1 - 2 Bologna with goals by Marco Di Vaio and Francesco Valiani. wow, wow, wow if they can repeat it, it will be the biggest upset of this round.  It's time for Milan to take care of business and grab this home victory.

Bologna lost at home last week: Bologna 0 - 2  Chievo Verona.  The best medicine for Bologna will be to grab a victory or a draw in San Siro.  A defeat might send Bologna to the last position!!!

Problem is that AC Milan also need to win to climb the Table.  Right now there are 5 points difference with the 3 teams leading the table. Bad thing is to have key injured players: goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, midfielder Gennaro Gattuso, forward Marco Borriello and Davide Di Genaro.  Again it is goalkeeper Marco Storari to carry the responsibility to guard Milan's goal.

Question is for Pato, Huntelaar, Ronaldinho to start scoring too... or should Leonardo rely on the eternal Super Pippo Inzaghi again?

For Bologna there is one injured missing the match defener Vangelis Moras.

Good news for both teams is that neither  has  suspended players or  carrying yellow cards.

Here are the probable formations:

AC Milan
Marco Storari, Massimo Oddo, Alessandro  Nesta, Thiago Silva, Marek Jankulovski; Clarence Seedorf, Flamini, Massimo Ambrosini; Ronaldinho; Pato, Klass Jan Huntelaar

Bologna: Viviano; Raggi, Portanova, Britos, Bombardini; Valiani, Mingazzini, Guana, Gimenez; Marco Di Vaio, Osvaldo

It seems AS Roma coach Claudio Ranieri is finding a magic formula that has awaken the Roman gladiators.  Guys, Roma was in the  20th position on Week 2 and the victory last week helped them climbed the Serie A table up to the 15th position!!!
Fiorentina needs to regroup after their defeat in the Champions league game in France: Olympique Lyon 1 - 0 Fiorentina

Roma facing today their Europa League match will face Fiorentina with victory last week:
AC Siena 1 - 2 AS Roma

Oh oh spaghetti oh!!!!  I talked too early because just finished watching the UEFA Europa League and Roma lost 2-0 against Basel !!!!!!!!  wow.. Mamma mia!!!  Hey, now it really needs to win or win in the Olimpico, period....

Here are the probable formations:

AS Roma
Julio Sergio; Motta, Nicolas  Burdisso, Philippe Mexes, Riise; Taddei, Daniele  De Rossi, Pizarro, Perrotta; Vucinic, Francesco Totti

Fiorentina: Sebastien Frey; Comotto, Alessandro Gamberini, Dainelli, Pasqual; Montolivo, Zanetti; Marchionni, Jovetic, Vargas; Alberto Gilardino

SAMPDORIA - AC SIENA
Luigi Ferraris Stadium
Serie A Standing:
  Sampdoria 3rd position, 9 points
AC Siena 11th position, 3 points

Sampdoria with the chance to grab the 3 points at home and continue the race for the Scudetto with Juventus and Genoa all having 9 points.  Chances to win are almost 99.9% considering the factors of playing at home, the good shape from forwards Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini and so on .

However, I won't rule out AC Siena, yet.  Siena is hurt after losing last week at home beaten by the Roman gladiators: AC Siena 1 - 2 AS Roma. It might work for Siena's  advantage to go tthe Ferraris and cause an upset.  Though, honestly, I will doubt it.

Last week, Sampdoria got an important away victory:
Atalanta 0 - 1 Sampdoria.  It will be really an upset if Siena either win or keep a draw in the Ferraris.  It's a matter of believing and applying whatever  strategy practiced.  So, are we seeing a goleada by Sampdoria or an even match...

AS BARI - ATALANTA

Serie A Standing:

What is happening to Atalanta?  Ouch!  Atalanta losing all 3 games and in the rock bottom of the Italian Serie A table with big flat "0" point.   LAst week they even lost at home: Atalanta 0 - 1 Sampdoria  It's wake up call.

Well, the sensation and newly promoted from the Serie B "AS BARI" are the ones making sensation.  Can Bari secure this victory at home?  Bari with draws and it's time to start winning and what a best opportunity than winning at home.

 Here are the probable formations:

AS BARI
Gillet; A Masiello, Ranocchia, Bonucci, S Masiello; Alvarez, Donati, Gazzi, Allegretti; Kutuzov, Meggiorini

CATANIA - LAZIO
Angelo Massimino Stadium
Serie A Standing:
  Catania 20th position, 0 point
                              Lazio 6th position, 6 points

Time for redemption for Catania after the defeat from last week:
Udinese 4 - 2 Catania

Catania has been working hard this week preparing the match against Lazio.  Coach Atzori has been testing  different players, tactics and improving the offense.  Training on Friday will be closed doors. It will be tough against Lazio, but if there is a fit Giuseppe Mascara and Morimoto, then, guys, expect a victory at the Angelo Massimino.  The key here is not much on the offense but on the defense!   Guys, Catania has conceded already 8 goals. OUCH!

Point is that Catania cannot lose this match and if they do, guys, well....  it might be the end of Catania coach Atzori.  Catania is already in the rock bottom.

Here is the thing, Catania might have their chance considering Lazio is suffering from key injured players including forward Tommaso Rocchi and Mauro Zarate not to mention even Cristian Brocchi, Stephen Makinwa, Lionel Scaloni, and Fabio Firmani.  This is why I say that Catania more the emphasizing on the offense should pay more attention on "defending."

Making matters worst for Lazio is the defeat today Thursday in the Olimpico in the UEFA Europa League against Salzburg.   Result: Lazio 1 - 2 Salzburg scoring for Lazio Foggia.  Wow, so you can tell that Lazio is suffering from having their forwards in the "infermeria.... injured."  Wonder what Lazio coach Davide Ballardini might do to defeat Catania.....

Catania also have their own problems with injuries including Pablo Barrientos, Ciro Capuano and Pablo Alvarez.
Here is the probable formation:

Catania
Andujar; Potenza, Silvestre, Spolli, Pesce; Delvecchio, Carboni, Ricchiuti, Sciacca; Morimoto,Giuseppe  Mascara

Lazio: Fernando Muslera; Lichsteiner, Diakite, Cribari, Kolarov; Dabo, Baronio, Mauri, Matuzalem; Julio Cruz, Foggia

CHIEVO VERONA - GENOA
Bentegodi Stadium
Serie A Standing:
  Chievo Verona 12th position, 3points
                              Genoa 1st position, 9 points

Hip hip hurrah for Genoa rocking in EUROPA!!!!!   Guys, not only Genoa is leading the Italian Serie A table, but it is also  winning in the UEFA Europa League!   Yep.  Imagine, last week Genoa crushed Napoli:
Genoa  4 - 1 Napoli.

Today, Genoa beat 2 - 0 Slavia Prague with goals by Zapater in the 4th minute and Sculli in the 39th minute.  It is a clear message to Chievo Verona to be ready because they are going to the Bentegodi to win the 3 points.

Chievo Verona, the flying donkeys  need to win at home.  Motivation for Chievo is also high as last week they  cause an upset by beating Bologna in the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium:
Bologna 0 - 2  Chievo Verona earning their first 3 points.

Simply put, guys, if Genoa defeat Genoa they will keep the leadersihp of the Serie depending on Juventus and Sampdoria too... on how many goals they score against their respective opponents.  All three have 9 points each.

Get ready because even Argentinian forward Hernan Crespo seems ready to make his comeback after scoring last week.

Here are the probable starting eleven formations:

Chievo Verona:
Sorrentino; Frey, Morero, Yepes, Mantovani; Luciano, Rigoni, Marcolini, Pinzi; Pellissier, Bogdani

Genoa: Marco Amelia; Papastathopoulos, Moretti, Biava; Rossi, Kharja, Zapater, Mesto; Palacio, Floccari, Sculli
