Italian Soccer Serie A  congratulates Palermo forward Abel Hernandez for being called up by Uruguay Coach Diego Aguirre to be part of the FIFA Under 20 World Cup Egypt 2009!  Hip hip hurrah!  The Tournament  will take palce in Egypt from September 24 to October 16, 2009.  Guys, I invite you to give our full support to Hernandez.  The FIFA U-20 World Cup is played every two years.

Uruguay is in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup Group D along: Ghana, Uzbekistan, and England.

For qualifying Uruguay finished first group-stage at the South American U-20 Championship, winning all four of their games. Uruguay secured their qualification in the penultimate game with a 2-2 draw with Paraguay. They finished third in the final standings, with six wins, one draw and two defeats over the two rounds. Get this one, guys, Uruguay ended the tournament as highest scorers with 21 goals, including five by joint top-scorer Abel Hernandez.  Awesome!
