RESULTS 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifier Games Having Italian Serie A Players on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10, 2009

By Anna Italia
Covering the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa from an Italian Perspective

The big moment for the Italian National team who seems their qualification to the 2010 World Cup closer after beating Georgia with 2 own goals by Kakha Kaladze.  Italy redeemed themselves today winning convincingly with 2 of the 2006 World Cup champions group and both Juventini!  Yep!  Italy scores with Juventus defender Fabio Grosso in the 11th minute and Juventus forward Vincenzo Iaquinta in the 38th minute.  A total party in the Olimpico Stadium in Turin. Italy 2 - 0 Bulgaria.

I will be updating this page with the results from the countries having players of our Italian Serie A.

What a difficult situation for Argentina now after losing to Paraguay because they are risking being out of the 2010 World Cup.  Paraguay with the victory qualified. Congrats to Atalanta midfielder Edgar Barreto playing for Paraguay.  Problem is for Argentina who are now in play off with 21 points if they could win the remaining 2 games or out of the World Cup if losing both?  Wow.... U N T H I N K A B L E. A World Cup without one the football giants?  Ouch!  Let's hope for Argentina to qualify.....
