- Training started 10:30 a.m. with a motivational speech.
- Afternoon training session was closed doors.
- Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi says that Italy should be brave enough to win the next two games against Georgia and Bulgaria. Obviously, guys, the 6 points will give Italy an advantage in the leadership of the Group over Ireland.
- Highlight of the training is to see 8 Juventus players in the called up group with the latest signing of ex Olympique Lyon defender Fabio Grosso. Lipppi commented that Juventus is right now having many Italian players unlike other cubs targeting more on foreign players. Lippi mentions that he goes to watch games where he can observe more Italian players. Lippi said to be happy with the return to Italy from Fabio Cannavaro and the ex Lyon defender Fabio Grosso.
- Lippi says that Italy will play with 4 midfielders and 2 forwards. In other words, guys, we are going back to the 4-4-2 and Lippi will be archiving the 4-3-3....
- Other topic ... the common question... Why Antonio Cassano is not called up?
Lippi commenting "I have nothing against Cssano. He is a professional, a nice guy. I respect the public opinion, but I also would like thay my ecisions be respected too. Is not that this situation bothers me because it has happened to the previous coach and will also happen to future coaches."
- The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) announced the match officials for the 2010 World Cup Qualifier match for ITALY - BULGARIA on Wednesday, September 9 after the injury from referee Hansson.
Match officials for Bulgiara - Italy: Referee Florian Meyer, Assistanta Volker Wezel and Thorsten Schiffner and fourth official Michael Weiner, all from Germany.
- 21 players present in the first training, as announced yesterday, Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchiso had permission for the birth of his child to join the team until today at 2 p.m. and Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi will join until Sunday, September 6 in Turin because he is supended for the match against Georgia.

- When Lippi was asked about whether Amauri was going to play for Italy. Lippi commented that it was not necessary to natulazie Amauri or Diego.
Hey guys, at least, this is good news because many Italian footballers are waiting to get their chance to play for their country.
Regarding the Resignation of Roma coach Luciano Spalletti
- Lippi commented "I did not think something like this could happen. I saw Spalletti last Thursday before the match Roma-Kosice and he did not tell me anything. I am sorry because Spalleti and Roma have done a lot in these years. Ranieri? It is a coach with international experience and wish him the best."
