Derby della Madonnina / MILAN DERBY PREVIEW AC MILAN - FC INTERNAZIONALE on Saturday, August 29, 2009

Ok, guys, for some it might not be a big deal to win or not the MILAN DERBY. Yet, let me tell you that the MILAN DERBY goes beyond any common sense, logic, and whatever reasoning.

It's too bad we won't see Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso in this derby because he is injured.

Anyway, guys, this time it is the turn for new FC Inter forward Diego Milito to talk about his first MILAN DERBY / DERBY DELLA MADONNINA.  So, you maybe won't  expect Milito to live the derby with the same intensity as those who have been with the squad longer.  However, he will give his best.

Guys, Milito is no stranger for AC Milan goalkeeper and defense.  Last time, Milito  blasted AC Milan with 2 goals in the Pre-Season friendly game during the 2009 World Football Challenge.   The difference is that the goalkeeper this time will not be Zeljko Kalac, but Marco Storari.

Here is that Diego Milito said today in a press conference in Appiano Gentile:
 
"It's a start to the season that motivates us, it's always nice to play a derby," said Milito in a press conference at the training ground ahead of Saturday's Serie A Week 2 clash.

"Let's hope that it's a good game for me, but also for Inter. Clashes against Milan are always special matches and each one is different. We have already faced the Rossoneri during the pre-season in America, but that was only a preparation game. Winning will count now but, above all, it will be an important chance for us to do well. It will be important to play well and get a positive result."

Although Milito declined to predict the result, he is positive about his team showing improvement. 

"Inter are an improving team. Each training session and each match help all of us understand one another better. We know we have a great team but we all have to work together and try to do well. I don't know which team is favourite to win, these kind of considerations are for you journalists. We are concentrated and to be honest, what the others say is not important. We know we have a great team, but it's our performance on the pitch that does the talking. We will try to play a great match and we are confident we can beat Milan."

Milito's friend Esteban Cambiasso always describes the Milan derby as the biggest match of the season and the striker was asked if his compatriot has given him any advice.

"We didn't talk about this. He's busy recovering from his injury, but I already know what a match like this means. We don't fear Milan or any other team. There's great respect for a team that played a good match in Siena."

The Derby della Madonnina / Milan derby comes early for Inter after their home draw against Bari on the opening day of the season resulting with a draw: FC Inter 1 - 1 Bari

"Season openers are never easy and it wasn't easy to play like we wanted straight away because many of us have only joined the team this year. We have to stay calm. From a personal point of view I still have to improve to give the best of myself. I'm happy here and happy with the team we have. Playing with Eto'o is easy, but we need time."

In his first two months at Inter, Milito has adapted to the methods of his new coach José Mourinho after a season with Gian Piero Gasperini.

"They are two different people with different philosophies and different ways of thinking," said the striker, "but they have one thing in common. They are both winners and they always want the best."
