Italian Soccer Serie A is supporting the 2 Italian Serie A clubs participating in the 2009 World Football Challenge: FC Internazionale and AC Milan as they represent Italian football. All the best .

Although technically, Inter was the strongest team compared to Club America who barely finished the 2008-2009 Season in the 8th position of Mexico's Primera Division while Inter won the fourth consecutive Scudetto, the Mexican Club America defeated Inter in penalty kicks.

Here is the official starting lineup for CLUB AMERICA by coach Jesus Ramirez:

CLUB AMERICA: Navarrete; O.Rojas, Sanchez, Mosquera, R.Rojas; Reyna, Beausejour, Pardo, Martinez ; Esqueda, Cabanas.

Here is the official starting lineup for FC INTERNAZIONALE by coach Jose Mourinho:

FC INTERNAZIONALE
: Belec; Davide Santon, Ivan Cordoba, Marco Materazzi, Christian Chivu; Esteban Cambiasso (Obi 63), Sulley Muntari; Dejan Stankovic, Thiago  Motta, Ricardo Quaresma; Diego Milito.

Surely, the absence of Goalkeeper Julio Cesar might have affected the team. Yet, Inter had enough to get a victory. I might say for the first international testing game, Inter coach Jose Mourinho will have to readjust his formation.  Well, Club America also missed their star goalkeeper Guillermo "Memo" Ochoa because he is right now playing the Copa de Oro with Mexico National team.

Mourinho started with a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Sulley Muntari and Esteban Cambiasso in holding roles and Dejan Stankovic, Thiago Motta and Ricardo Quaresma in support of lone striker Diego "Il Principe Milito" making his debut with FC Internazionale, while having Super Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the bench as a substitute.

Obviously, Mourinho wants to test Diego Milito and rather started with him as he already know the potential of Ibrahimovic. Besides guys, this is a testing friendly match where Mourinho can make his experiments.

Anyway, the 4-2-3-1 testing formation lasted only 30 minutes because Mourinho switched after to a 4-3-3 formation. Mourinho included Mario Balotelli instead of Sulley Muntari who had to be substituted for a back problem.

It was a disappointment for all Inter fans to see the inability of the team to win this match and having to go to penalty kicks.

Argentinian midfielder Esteban Cambiasso said, "It is not pleasant to lose because it gives you a negative feeling." I agree with Cambiasso because Inter as Italy Champions should win these games too and not just assume it is only a "training match."

I disagree with Captain Zanetti who said that the most important thing now is to "prepare well for the matches that really count, these are trainings, the most important is to find the proper condition."

It makes sense that Zanetti think that Inter  must now prepare for the matches that count, but at the same time Inter and Italy football fans expect to see a good performance of the team when they travel outside Italy.

Coach Jesus Ramirez says that he is happy with the result but most of all with the performance of the team. Hello, you bet it is a boost to the morale of the Club and Chucho Ramirez can keep this victory to inspire his team and face now AC Milan on Wednesday .

Guys, Inter had the chance to open the score earlier when Portuguese midfielder Ricardo Quaresma making his famous "trivela" shot but ending over the far post. Though also sending a cross to Thiago Motta who headed the ball too wide.

Las Aguilas del America had the best moment of the end of the first half with Pavel Pardo's free kick hitting the bar and Salvador Cabañas sending a powerful shot though hitting the post.

Though the clear goal opportunity for America was in the 27th minute after a cross from Esqueda to forward Salvador Cabañas missing the target that he could not believe it!!!

In the second half, Mourinho makes substitution bringing Nicolas
Burdisso, Patrick Vieira and Captain Javier Zanetti in place of  Marco Materazzi , Dejan Stankovic and Cristian Chivu.

Imagine that Club America opened the score in the 51st minute with Juan Carlos Silva who came as a substitute in the 46th minute for Martinez.  Just five minutes later during the corner kick executed by Pavel Pardo, bammmmmm the magic moment for Juan Carlos Silva heading the ball to blast FC Inter goalkeeper Belec to the delight of thousands of America fans and you bet the disappointment of Inter fans.

The reaction?  Hello, hello, hello, Mourinho made two further substitutions after the goal of Club America. You bet Mourinho did not want to lose the game and bring Super Zlatan Ibrahimovic replacing Ricardo Quaresma and Amantino Mancini replacing Thiago Motta.

In other words, Mourinho had to rely on his "experienced team" to resolve the situation.  It is clear that Thiago Motta and Diego Milito still have to find their rhythm with their new team.

Ten minutes later, it is Colombian defender Ivan Ramiro Cordoba to equalize the score in the 61st minute with a header goal in the far post also from a right wing corner kick by forward Mario Balotelli.

The moment of Ivan Ramiro Cordoba to head the ball blasting Club America goalkeeper Navarrete.

Hey, hey, hey, Ivan Ramiro Cordoba celebrates his goal with Diego Milito.

More changes for INTER when
Obi replaced Esteban "EL Cucho" Cambiasso and Krhin replacing Davide Santon.  Guys, Mourinho used all his substitutes except goalkeeper Orlandoni and opted to have Belec during the 90 minutes.  Most likely, goalkeeper Francesco Toldo will be ready for the match against Chelsea on Tuesday, that will depend on the medical approval of Inter doctor Franco Combi.

In the 80th minute, Referee Baldomero sends off Esqueda  for a harsh challenge on Inter goalkeeper Belec.

Chucho Ramirez substituted Salvador Cabanas in the 85th minute by Marquez.

Two minutes later, in the 87th minute, Referee Baldomero sends off Inter player Obi for a bad foul on Oscar Rojas. Both teams ending with 10 players.

No chance and Inter could not win the game in the 90 minutes.

Oops... so now  the result had to be decided in penalty kicks as established by the rules of the World Football Challenge.

Club America converted all their 5 penalties while Inter failed to convert one penalty when Patrick Vieira missed it.  Converting penalties for Inter Mario Balotelli, Diego Milito and Zlatan Ibrahimoic.

Patrick Vieira missed Inter's fourth penalty after conversions from Balotelli, Milito and Ibrahimovic, leaving Oscar Rojas to deliver the winning penalty giving the victory to Club America "las Aguilas."

You might think this is only a friendly game, but at least for Club America it means gaining prestige beating Italy Champions FC Inter. Now, guys, let's continue rooting for FC Inter and hope they win on Tuesday against Chelsea in the Rose Bowl of Pasadena. This is a big clash as will face former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti against former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho now coaching Inter. wow.!
