ItaliaCovering Inter Milan Pre Season Training Camp in the USA
Guys, my adventure covering INTER MILAN training in UCLA for the 2009 - 2010 Pre Season training is just amazing! Today, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 was the second day training for Inter and I was ready to capture all the feelings from the fans and players.
You bet I woke up early, had my cappuccino and jumped in my car to go directly to UCLA. it was just awesome! Not only I keep seeing Inter players training hard from outside, but today, hip hip hurrah, Inter coach Jose Mourinho had the excellent idea to open the gates of the training session in the last minutes for all fans to enjoy watching their favorite players from the bench! Hello, this just made my day because I am covering INTER MILAN from a "fan perspective" and not as a "traditional media."

I keep sharing thoughts with fans trying to see whether they are real INTER MILAN fans or whether they are just following specific players from Inter. The response varies. Let me tell you that the most popular guys today again were Super Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marco Materazzi and the group of Latin American players: Esteban "el Cucho" Cambiasso, Ivan Cordoba, Nicolas Burdisso, David Suazo, Diego Milito, and boy all the yelling for CORDOBA was unbelievable!!!! Fans, many from Colombia, were yelling CORDOBA, CORDOBA, and what I really liked was to see CORDOBA pleasing the fans despite being tired after training. Cordoba took time _SO PATIENTLY - to go from one side to another side just signing autographs, taking pictures and talking in Spanish to his fans.

For all "CAMBIASSO FANS," wow, let me tell you that those "big blue eyes" are just breathtaking! I love seeing Cambiasso playing with Argentina National team too. Oh gosh, guys, Captain Javier Zanetti is not with the team yet. I think he will join the team on Thursday or Friday.
You won't believe how many Inter fans have melted by Ibrahimovic's charm!!!! Most were expecting a more "divo type player" instead, Ibrahimovic seems so available for his fans. You could see him really caring and taking time to please the crowd. Honestly, guys, I was upset with Ibrahimovic when he left Juventus, though, after meeting him and observing his approach towards the fans, my heart just melted. Fans keep saying Ibra not to leave Inter Milan and to stay with the club because the rumors of his transfer are still going on.
In the trainings there was also present Rafael Ramos Villagrana from the Spanish Speaking newspaper LA OPINION. You bet he must have been happy to see the response from the fans towards the Latin American players. By the way, guys, there was an exclusive interview in LA OPINION about DIEGO MILITO "Quinta Estrealla Mas un Triplete" made by Villagran.
Though, guys, as expected, the moment Jose Mourinho shows his face and start walking immediately there is a big ROAR "MOURINHO, MOURINHO." Some Inter fans next to me were yelling "Mourinho we want the Champions." Guys, every time I see Mourinho it reminds me of the time he was coaching Chelsea because that is how I met him first and precisely in UCLA too. Anyway, Mourinho, with his distinct character and saying "non mi fermo, I can't stop" just passed by giving autographs to the fans who were just happy even without getting the "much awaited photo moment."
I video taped part of the training to share with all of you and will post them here... It is just awesome guys. Seeing SO CLOSE the whole action and confirming the SUPER TECHNIQUE from Zlatan Ibrahimovic during trainings. wow.... I was like, what, hello, wow, am I really here watching IBRA ABRACADABRA? Is he for real this good? Believe me, one thing is to watch the players on TV, but a total big thing to watch them play so close where one can really caught the intensity and vibration of the "gioco bonito."
Here I am guys inside the TRAINING CAMP during the pre season training of INTER MILAN in UCLA on
Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
I also want to salute DUST an "American with Italian heritage" who came from Rancho Cucamonga two days in a row just to see especially Ibrahimovic and Marco Materazzi. Aminu from Ghana also present today for one of his favorite players "SULLEY MUNTARI."
Guys, too bad, that goalkeeper Francesco Toldo (another of my favorites) could not train today because he suffered a concussion during Monday's morning training. Inter doctor Franco Combi and the medical staff opted to give resting time to Toldo from at least 48 hours.
Goalkeeper Orlandoni is now taking the lead because MY BELOVED JULIO CESAR is still on vacation. Guys, Orlandoni was surprised when I asked him to autographed the photo we took yesterday LOL... hey, like many fans told me "I am an organized fan and I want to capture this moment sharing with our Italian clubs in the USA." LOL. Just hope Orlandoni to do well with the team because they are representing Italian football in the USA as well as AC Milan in the 2009 World Football Challenge.
There were also "ROMANIAN FANS" rooting for Christian Chivu! I had a blast observing them taking photos from Chivu and even jumping when CHIVU gave them his autographs. Just awesome! I love seeing fans happy because I am a fan myself and know how important is to get that dreamed autograph and photo... most of all meeting person to person our favorite players. So, thumbs up for this Romanian group.
oops. guys, young forward Davide Santon suffered an injury during the training and he left with a big bag of ice on his knee. We were all waiting to get his autograph but they guy could barely walk. Hope he recovers soon. Standing ovation to Santon too for spending lot of time with fans. Excellent.
Oh my gosh, so much to mention!!!! Thumbs up also for AMANTINO MANCINI guys!!! He is all smile and even sweating, tired, but when the fans keep yelling asking for his autograph, he made a u turn and started to give autographs. Way to go! Some fans were there for MANCINI because they were AS Roma fans too and followed him since his years as a Roman gladiator.
One of the highlights today was when an Inter fan ran away with a ball to keep it as a souvenir. Guys, during the training when it was closed doors, the players kept shooting long shots and at times the ball ending outside the field but immediately you had a staff coming to get the ball. This time, this Inter fan (we don't know his name) was faster enough to GRAB THE BALL and ran like he was in the MARATHON!!! All fans outside were rooting for the fan to keep running and you bet he did and kept the practice ball as souvenir!!! I love it!!!! po po po po po po po po...
Inter Channel is covering daily updates, live coverage from the trainings.
Hip hip hurrah.. it is Super Zlatan Ibrahimovic.... amazing ! Ibra taking a break and refreshing his face. There was a small plastic swimming pool where players can use the water to splash on their faces or buddies to calm the heat. It was too hot today.
Wow, guys, I am enjoying this Inter Milan practice match game in the training session on behalf of all my visitors from Italian Soccer Serie A.
UCLA Training Camp INTER MILAN, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - Colombian Inter Milan defender Ivan Ramiro Cordoba and Argentinian midfielder Esteban "EL CUCHO" Cambiasso after training taking time to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. These two among the most popular players by the present crowd.

Here is Christian Chivu listening to the call of "ROMANIA, ROMANIA" Awesome guys!!! You could see Chivu happy to please his connazionali. Also, there is Honduras fan Luther with the sunglasses and white mark asking for Chivu's autograph too. Luther came to root for Honduras striker David Suazo and he got his autograph too!

Just a word to Mourinho: "Thanks for giving the fans today the joy of watching the training. It was a good decision!"
