The qualification to the Semifinal of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in Group B might be decided on "goal difference" if Brazil, Italy, and Egypt reach 6 points each, or if Italy, Egypt, and USA reach 3 points each.
Here is the current GROUP B STANDING of the FIFA Confederations Cup after completing 2 games and missing only one to be played on Sunday, June 21, 2009.

Here is how Italy can qualify to the Semifinal of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup:
A. Battle of 3 teams if having 6 points each: Brazil, Italy, and Egypt
1. If Italy beat Brazil, points for Italy and Brazil will be 6 points
2. If USA beat Egypt, points for Italy, Brazil, and Egypt will be 6 points.
The two teams passing to the semifinals will be determined by GOAL DIFFERENCE.
B. Battle of 3 times if having 3 points each to fight for the second team to pass to the Semifinal: Italy, Egypt, and USA
1. If Brazil beat Italy, Brazil will qualify to the Semifinal with 9 points despite the result of the game between Egypt - USA.
2. If Brazil beat Italy, Brazil pass to the Semifinal with 9 points.
3. If USA beat Egypt, both teams will have 3 points each along Italy assuming Brazil beat Italy.
The GOAL DIFFERENCE between Italy, Egypt, and USA will determine the second team qualifying to the semifinal in Group B.
HERE IS WHAT ITALY must do to qualify:1. Italy must have a better score on Sunday than Egypt.
2. If the games between Brazil - Italy and USA - Egypt result with a draw, Brazil will qualify with 7 points. Italy and Egypt will have 4 points and the goal difference will determine who pass. Right now Italy have 1 goal difference while Egypt have 0 goal difference. Depends on how many goals Italy and Egypt make in their last game.
3. Italy must beat Brazil with at least 2 goals difference. Brazil has +4 goal difference and Italy +1. Here is the delicate situation, If Italy beat Brazil with at least 2 goal difference, than, Italy will be first with +3 and Brazil wlill come as second place with +2 goal difference.
4. If Italy beat Brazil with only 1 goal difference, they can qualify only if Egypt beat USA by the same goal numbers. IF EGYPT beat USA with more goals than Italy beating Brazil, then, Italy will be eliminated AND I WILL COLLAPSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
