Oh my gosh!  Guys, bad news because our beloved Italian Captain and defender Fabio Cannavaro could not recover from a calf injury.  Cannavaro will miss the kick off match of the Confederations Cup USA - ITALY on Monday, June 15!!!!!    Oh no!!!!

Here is the situation.  Cannavaro did not train regularly with the team to have time and recover from a calf strain. Nothing to do, but our Cannavaro painfully must skip this match and wish his teammates the best. 

Bad news is that Cannavaro might even miss the rest of the games too!  OUCH!!!!  Yep! According to Italy team doctor Enrico Castellacci who also says that Cannavaro could not play even the warm up matches.  Guys, here is the chance for Juventus defenders Nicola Legrottaglie and Giorgio Cheillini to  take the helm and form the strong catenaccio.  Good thing is that Lippi used both during the preparatory match on Friday:  Italy 6 - 0 Tshwane Eleven,  Wow, guys, the defense is all JUVENTUS.  way to go Juve...

Time for Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi to rearrange the formation.  Italy's kick off game is on Monday, June 15, 2009 against the United States in Pretoria. It's crucial to start with the right foot and a victory is expected, nothing else.  Second match is  against Egypt on Thursday, June 18.

Just for the records, guys, Cannavaro might reach Paolo Maldini's record of having 126 caps for Italy, he just need two matches to equal the record.
