Ok, guys, so here are the updates of the First Day training on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Technical Center of Coverciano.

- Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi training this morning side by side with his assistant coach Ciro Ferrara. Guys, Ferrara is still competing to be selected as coach of FC Juventus and Lippi says that if they choose him as new Juventus coach, he will let him go. In this case, Lippi will get another assistant because Ferrara will stay in Italy.
- Guys, Lippi considers a reward to the 8 new younger players he called for this friendly and not only a test for the pre-Confederations Cup. The lucky 8 players are my top shot in Cagliari, goalkeeper Federico Marchetti, Mattia Cassani, Esposito, Galloppa, Biagianti, Mascara and Sergio Pellissier. well done guys!!!! I am so happy for all of them, especially for Marchetti, Mascara, and Chievo forward Pellissier! In the group there is also FC Inter defender Davide Santon, who is the only one who might return to play the Confederations Cup.
- Lippi says that he plans to evaluate from 35 to 40 players to finally choose 23 who will come to South Africa. Lipppi says he already selected 10 players who will be playing the Confederations Cup but he will announce it later.
- Concern for the match in Pisa. wow, guys, according to Lippi he might expect some fans to contest not the nazionale but protests against the management of their city team for being relegating. Hopefully, things will be calm.
- POSSIBLE FORMATION (4-3-3) for ITALTY - NORTHERN IRELAND based on today's training:
Goalkeeper: De Sanctis
Defenders: Davide Santon, Nicola Legrottaglie, Alessandro Gamberini, and Grosso.
Midfielders: Gennaro Gattuso, D'Agostino, and Riccardo Montolivo
Forwards: Rossi, Giampaolo Pazzini, and Mascara.
- Lippi presented the new Soccer Jersey of the Italian National team with AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.
It is almost a light blue, certainly does not look REAL BLUE as to call them "Azzurri" I don't like this new color, what about you guys?
- AC Milan and Italy midfielder Gennaro Gattuso amd Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi with the new jersey.
- Thumbs up for Gattuso. Do you notice how youthful he looks? Awesome!

- Lippi says that Ancelotti is not only a great man, but also a great coach. His talent was ackowledged in England. Lippi avoided commenting on the transfer of Kaka.
"For Ancelotti, I even cried. I had lived 8 wonderful years with Ancelotti. I will be upset if Kaka leaves too because he is a champions. He is one who can win a match when he is in shape. I am sorry that the management put him on sale. I am glad that Alessandro Nesta is back and will be ready next season."

What do you think guys? Although it is a friendly test, you bet I want Italy to win. It is a great chance for these 8 young players. They can have the chance to show their worth and some might be back with the "senatori" to prepare for the Confederations Cup.
