We are  in the  last match of the 2008 - 2009 Serie A Season.  Get your kleenex and start crying to say good bye to the season!  Though, get also your best snacks and champagne to welcome the new season too!

I want to thank all of you my readers for having sharing with me this amazing rollercoaster defending our respective teams and players.  It is the last preview of the season and for me "Each one of you made this experience unique."  Thanks guys... so say no more... and here we go.

Champions League Battle

FC Inter    ...... Already Italy's Champions!
AC Milan   ---- Battling to keep the 2nd position against Juventus
FC Juventus ..Wants to take away the 2nd position from AC Milan
Fiorentina   -   Want to cause an upset and beat Milan.

Here is the real bloody battle to get the direct qualification for the UEFA Champions League next year.  AC Milan have 3 points more than Firoentina but the same 71 points like Juventus.

Constant rumors about the sacking of AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti if losing this match are increasing.  Guys, AC Milan cannot lose this game as it is the better way to say "Thank You to Captain Paolo Maldini" playing his last game ....  Already Milan blew it by losing Maldini's last game in San Siro last Sunday against Roma. 

I like the words from Fiorentina midfielder Juan Manuel Vargas towards Maldini "Maldini? In Italy he's an idol, he's known all over the world. For me he is a great professional, playing against him has always been my dream, it will be fantastic to face him in the last game of his career." Thumbs up for Vargas!

 

Irony, it is ex AC Milan forward Alberto Gilardino to welcome his ex tream with the mission to win the match for Fiorentina.  Gilardino who has found his way to goal with Fiorentina will love to show a tough lesson to AC Milan. Wow, can you imagine Gilardino  blasting Milan and shattering the good bye from Maldini? wow!!!  Gilardino has scored 19 goals this season while AC Milan forward Kaka scoring only 15 goals, Pato 14, and Filippo Inzaghi 13 goals.

Bad news for Fiorentina is the suspension of Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo for 2 games and Dario Dainelli suspended for 1 game! Though, AC Milan also have 1 suspended player midfielder Massimo Ambrosini.

Bologna must play the "match of their life" in front of their fans to remain in Serie A.  Bologna and Torino are the two remaining in the battle for relegation having 34 points each.

It's the second test for new Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara. Guys, Ciro made his debut with a victory thanks to the brilliant performance and leadership of Alessandro Del Piero scoring and making assist.  The battle is tough because it will decide whether Juventus ends in 2 or 3 place for a direct qualification for the UEFA Champions League next year. 

Juventus have the chance to end the season with a victory in front of their fans, though Lazio  won't go to the Olimpico to concede the match.  You bet Lazio will play  their best game to end in a positive light the season after the fans keep contesting the management and the team.

PALERMO - SAMPDORIA

Is this a formality match?  Well, Palermo already out of the race for a spot in the UEFA Cup and Sampdoria without chances to be in any European competition. Wow, amazing, guys!  Palermo is in a better standing than Sampdoria!  Wow... hey, there must be a party going on in Palermo to celebrate this great ending of the season.

Yet, there is also the rumor that it might be the last match from Palermo coach Palermo Ballardini.  OH well... let's hope for the best.

Sampdoria will try to pull a victory at the Barbera and will rely on their dynamic duo forwards Giampaolo Pazzini and Antonio Cassano.  By the way, Cassano is the best "Assist Man" from the match: 77 assist with 10 winners ending in goals.  Second assist man of the match is Fabio Liverani  with 61 assist and 7 ending with goals.   Though Liverani is not playing for injury.  Next "assist man for Palermo" are Simplicio with 58 and Miccoli with 51 assist and just 1 ending in goal.  So..there is a chance that Sampdoria might upset Palermo and take home the 3 points.

Palermo without forward Edison Cavani for injury will put their hope on the usual Fabrizio Miccoli. Guys, at least Miccoli has a better goal record this season with 13 goals while Cassano has scored 12 and Pazzini 11.  Plus Miccoli extending his contract until 2012 will inspire him to be a scorer machine!.   Another good news is that  fans  will be paying only 5 euros in the Curva!!!!    Defender Kjaer is also back!
