Ok, guys, after FC Inter Milan beatig Lazio, the pressure for AC Milan to beat Catania is now huge.  The difference at this point is now 10 points.  Milan will have to beat Catania to keep the 7 points difference and have a "slight" chance to keep the race for the Scudetto alive.  There are 4 more games totalling 12 points.

Grab your snacks, relax  and sit dow to read every word of the Press Conference from AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti on the eve of the Italian Serie A  Week 34 match CATANIA - AC MILAN on Sunday, May 3, 2009 in the Angelo Massimino Stadium.

This is what Ancelotti had to say.....

ON CATANIA

“Catania have proven this season to be a team of good level. They had a season where they did better than their possibilities, obtaining the survival very early. It’s a very solid team, who does not possess reference points in attack. Then going to play at their home, it will surely be a difficult game because they have a very warm crowd who always supports the team.

Zenga is one of the few coaches who went around the world before starting in Serie A. He’s a capable and competent coach who obtains good results.”

ON MILAN’S MOMENT AND THE OBJECTIVES

“Right now Milan is proving to be very concentrated in reaching its objective which is that of achieving the qualification to the next Champions League. The important thing right now will be that of reaching this objective as soon as possible and tomorrow we shall face another stage to reach this objective. Milan right now must maintain the gap from the fourth place and tomorrow we will be interested in the results of Fiorentina-Torino and Genoa-Sampdoria.”

ON THE ANTI-CATANIA FORMATION

MILANELLO, 29 APRILE: IL DISCORSO DEL MISTER

Here is Carlo Ancelotti having a "serious talk" with his players during the training on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in Milanello to make sure they understand the importance to win against Catania.

“Tomorrow’s team will be mainly the same one that went on the pitch against Palermo, with the only difference being in defence where Jankulovski will play instead of Flamini. The only doubt is tied to the presence of Pato, therefore I will have to choose between Paro and Seedorf. This evaluation will be made in function to the fact that playing Kaka in attack allows us to have an extra finisher. Kaka’s way of playing has changed and even he prefers the more advanced position. Right now the team is in good form, but each game will be complicated. Our calendar is not easy to reach the objective of the Champions League.”

MILANELLO, 29 APRILE: FAVALLI E PATO IN PARTITELLA

ON THE PENALTIES AWARDED TO MILAN DURING THIS SEASON

“I think that the issue of the penalties is a logical thing and is tied to the fact that Milan is a team which relies on the attacking game and therefore more probably the action develops inside the penalty area, more than to a team who plays more defensively.”

ON THE FUTURE, MARKET, INDIVIDUALS

“Like president Silvio Berlusconi said during the week, once we have reached the season objectives, we shall sit around the table and discuss. During dinner which was held on Thursday evening we spoke about everything. It was not the last supper, there will be another one next Thursday, then the following Thursday and many others.

“With regards to the next transfer market, a lot will depend from the injuries. Nesta, Borriello, Kaladze are in the recovery phase, we are not hurrying them up. Surely they will not manage to recover for this season and during the summer they will be followed by our physiotherapists to monitor the evolution of their therapies.

MILANELLO, 29 APRILE: GATTUSO E RONALDINHO IN PARTITELLA

Awesome guys, AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso getting back in shape and training along Ronaldinho Gaucho.

“Instead Gattuso is almost ready, he could be there for the last two games and maybe even in time to play a friendly game in Tirana. In the case that Lippi will want to call him up for the Confederation Cup, I would agree because once he has recovered, he is free to do what he wants and I think that it could help his morale.

“Ronaldinho is in a good condition. What penalizes him is that the team obtained good results with a determined setup and for me to modify it is not easy."

Hey, hey, hey.. you bet Ronaldinho won't be that happy after hearing this declaration from Ancelotti..  Dinho wants to play, but I understand Ancelotti that why changing something when is working??

On ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO

“Shevchenko’s season cannot be considered satisfying since he did not play much, but from the professional point of view I believe that his experience this year was positive since I found a more available player than the one who had left two years ago.

Oh my gosh, what????!!!!!  Guys, I had to read this statement twice!   What does Ancelotti mean that Sheva is "more available player now than when he left 2 years ago?"  OUCH!!!!!   I felt the strong punch... does it mean Sheva was not that available?  I disagree with Ancelotti and don't think this season was that positive for Shevchenko.  I was expecting more from him after his failure in Chelsea and supposedly finding his home again with the Rossoneri. I love Sheva but I am not blind.  Come on... Sheva got many chances in the Serie A but barely was indispensable..  True, Sheva scored good goals in international friendlies and other games but I really have to count them with one hand...  I do expect Sheva to start delivering goals or guys let's bring back the young promise "Paloschi."   What do you think?

ON MARCO BORRIELLO

“Borriello is not for sale, whereas if Gourcuff should return, we would be happy. He’s a player who did well with Bordeaux, he was there on loan with the option of purchasing him and if they want him they will be able to purchase him, but otherwise he will return more mature.”
