The formation seems defined. It's the THIRD training of the Italian National Team in Coverciano towards the 2010 World Cup Qualifying match Montenegro - Italy on Saturday, March 28.

Today it is a light day for the Azzurri having the morning off.  After the first two day trainings, good news is that Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi seems to have a defined formation at least  for the first 2010 World Cup Qualifier on Saturday, March 28 Montenegro - Italy in Podgorica.

Technical Center Coverciano, Italian National Team Third Day Training
Thursday, March 26,  2009

h.13.30 Press conference  (players)
h. 16.00 Italian National Team training (Open to the press only the first 15 minutes)

Tuesday and Wednesday there were double training sessions.   Today, Lippi gave the morning off to the players and there is only one training session at 16:00.

Guys, the preparation are for both 2010 World Cup qualifiers on Saturday, March 28, 2009
Montenegro - Italy and on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 Italy - Republic of Ireland in Bari.

                                          

Arriving today in the Technical Center of Coverciano was Pierluigi Collina of the Italian Football Referees Association (AIA) and member of the UEFA Referees Committee.

Collina shared with the Italian national team  and exchanged some ideas.  Collina updated the players with the latest measures followed for international refereeing.

 Collina  stayed in Coverciano and had  lunch with the Azzurri.

- Guys, this visit also served for Collina and Roma midfielder to talk over the declarations from De Rossi after the match with FC Inter.

Training session in the afternoon (I will be updating this part)

Tomorrow is the last morning training in Italy at the Technical Center of Coverciano. The Azzzurri will depart in the afternoon from Pisa to Podgorica.

So far, the possible formation based on the last 2 trainings continue to be the following:
 
Goalkeeper: Gigi Buffon,
Defenders: Gianluca Zambrotta, Fabio Cannavaro, Giorgio Chiellini, and Fabio Grosso
Midfielders: Palombo, Andrea Pirlo, and Daniele De Rossi
Forwards:  Fabio Quagliarella, Vincenzo Iaquinta, and Antonio Di Natale

Lippi  might choose Roma midfielder Brighi instead of  Sampdoria midfielder Palombo for the starting line up against Montenegro.

After the training  a Press conference  (Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi and players)
h. 17.30 Departure Charter flight from Pisa to Podgorica
h. 19.00  Arriving in Podgorica and transfer to "City Stadium"
