After the First Day Training of the Italian National Team in Coverciano on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 for the 2010 World Cup Qualifier match Montenegro - Italy, Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi followed with a press conference including Sampdoria forward Giampaolo Pazzini and Genoa defender Bocchetti.

As expected, guys, most of the opening questions were about "why not calling Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano." Here is the blunt answer from Lippi. "Cassano? Where is he? I only talk about the players who are present. I don't have to motivate my choices. I have my own convictions and I don't have to give explanations. It is not because I am arrogant, but because I want to work with those who are present."
Wow, what a punch from Lippi to silence journalists to keep asking on the subject of Cassano. In other words, enough is enough. wowwww
WORK - Lippi said that he is happy the group will be preparing the 2010 World Cup qualifying matches for 10 days. The objective is to create a group with the characteristics of a strong team. I agree with Lippi that the "true football expression of a country is the National Team not the clubs."
Lippi emphasizing that Italy has done so far well. It has obtained 10 points in four matches. Though there is another team "Ireland" who has done the same. Gee, guys, according to Lippi the main contender of the group for Italy will be the Republic of Ireland with coach Giovanni Trapattoni!!!!
Guys, Italy, right now is in the 4th position and I hope Lippi have the magic touch to put the Azzurri back in top of the FIFA Ranking with 1284 points.
I also agree with Lippi that Coach Giovanni Trapattoni has not betrayed anybody for coaching the Republic of Ireland. It is a job and it happens that now both Italian coaches will face each other to qualify their respective teams for the 2010 World Cup. Wow, it will be really tough. You bet Italians should be proud that Italian coaches are taking in consideration by other countries to coch their national teams. I love the philosophy of LIppi saying that he wants to trasmit to his players that "it is not important when one plays, but to be part of this group."
The 3 new faces - Sampdoria forward Giampaolo Pazzini, Genoa defender Bocchetti, and AS Roma defender Motta
Lippi said that he wanted to add gradually younger players. "I promised Casiraghi to let him keep his players who conquered the Europei, but since the Under-21 will play a friendly match I called up some."
"Pazzini was the first name I considered when Alberto Gilardino got injured. Bocchetti is doing well, but there are other players who are also doing well and that I am observing. For example, Santon, though I think he should start with the Under 21."
Selection of the group - "It is not enough to do well for 2 or 3 months to belong to this group. There are many footballers who are double citizenship. Wow, guys, this was after the topic of Amauri came out during the press conference. Lippi emphasized that he will reward players who are doing well with their clubs in the friendly match of June 6, 2009 against the North Republic of Ireland.
SAMPDORIA FORWARD GIAMPAOLO PAZZINI
Pazzini declared that "to be in the National team is a great satisfaction. I don't hold any grudges against
Fiorentina." You bet Pazzini will try his best to be considered again as part ot the Italian National team. I have no doubts guys that if Pazzini continue playing as he is doing with Sampdora Lippi will call him back. Guys, since Pazzini moved from Fiorentina to Sampdoria he has scored 8 goals!!!!
"I am coming to the team with enthusiasm. It is easier to score than in the past thanks to Cassano's passes but I've also created a lot of goals myself," said Pazzini.
Cassano and Pazzini are making an all "Italian party" in Sampdoria. Yet, Lippi considers only Pazzini for the Azzurri and still leaving out Cassano. What's your thought?
GENOA DEFENDER SALVATORE BOCCHETTI
I just love the declarations from Bocchetti during the press conference. "Having breakfast this morning with the World Cup Champions around me was a sensational experience. It is a Nazionale having many Napolitani, but I have also connected with all my teammates."
I am so happy for Bocchetti and wish he does well. The Azzurri needs to rejuvenate in every department and having Bocchetti here is a good indication.

"I am coming to the team with enthusiasm. It is easier to score than in the past thanks to Cassano's passes but I've also created a lot of goals myself," said Pazzini.
When Pazzini was asked how he felt that his teammate Antonio Cassano was not called up, Pazzini responded: "Let's remember that Lippi is a world champion and it is up to him to make the final decision."
Hello, is not that Pazzini was going to give a negative opinion and ruin his relation with Lippi.
Guys, ironically, Pazzini was called up this time to the Italian National team because his former teammate Alberto Gilardino was injured. Well, now it is Pazzini's time to take advantage of this opportunity and speak in the field with goals and assists. Wow, guys, I am already cheering for Pazzini!!!!!! Go Pazzini, Go Pazzini, Go Pazzini.
Cassano and Pazzini are making an all "Italian party" in Sampdoria. Yet, Lippi considers only Pazzini for the Azzurri and still leaving out Cassano. What's your thought?
