RESULTS Weekly Roundup 2008 - 2009 Italian Serie A Week 25 - Twenty Fifth Round, FIXTURES AND RESULTS with Scorers and Match Officials, Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, 2009

By Anna Italia

Here is the Weekly Roundup,  FIXTURES AND RESULTS with Scorers and Match Officials  of the 2008 - 2009 Italian Soccer Serie A Week 25 - Twenty Fifth Round Matchday 25 Saturday, February 21 and February 22, 2009.

I have to start this Weekly Round UP by saying "FLY INTER ... KEEP FLYING that the rest of the Serie A teams are falling behind."    I must say that I was expecting at least a draw in the match Bologna - Inter for all the pressure of Inter to keep their main players in shape for the UEFA Champions League match against Manchester United next week.  Yet, again with a controversial assist from Adriano using his arm wheter voluntarily or not, Inter ended up winning the match with the second goal by forward Mario Balotelli.
BOLOGNA 1 - 2 FC INTER  Inter keeps flying "all alone" with 59 points followed by FC Juventus with 50 points.

Juventus with a one goal broke the curse of the "Renzo Barbera Stadium" by finally winning there after 3 years.  PALERMO 0 - 2 FC JUVENTUS.  The good thing was the return to score from forward David Trezeguet. Ironically, the assist was made by ex Palermo star forward Amauri now playing for Juventus. The best part - and I really applaud Palermo fans at the Renzo Barbera - for welcoming Amauri in his first match against Palermo at the Barbera and not whistling him.  Amauri after all did so much for Palermo and he still carry "the torch" to return to Palermo some day.

The Roman gladiators barely winning at home are keeping their hope to be among the top 4 teams to qualify for next year UEFA Champions League.  Captain Totti played, though not at his best shape.  De Rossi was suspended and the one scoring the goal  for AS Roma was ex AC Siena player Rodrigo Taddei.... A M A Z I N G!!!  AS ROMA 1 - 0 AC SIENA
