Just like Sampdoria lost at home, Fiorentina today with a big defeat at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.  Guys, this is bad for our Italian Football.

It was supposed to be a party for Fiorentina fans, yet in the 60th minute a cold shower when Ajax midfielder Kennedy Bakircioglu blasts Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey. Let me correct myself, Bakircioglu shatters our dreams to see Fiorentina winning.

Fiorentina dominated the match, but again, what's the point of dominating when losing a match?  Such a bad luck started when the goal of forward Adrian Mutu in the third minute sends a powerful right footed shot and Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg saves.  Then, in the 6th minute, Mutu offside too.

Another suffering moment when midfielder Riccardo Montolivo had the chance to score in the 17th minute with a left footed shot sending the ball too high over the bar.  Fiorentina was battling and you could see Adrian Mutu being a constant clear and present danger for Ajax.  Though, no luck, guys.....

La rabbia di Kuzmanovic dopo l'occasione sprecata. Afp

In the 78th minute, Zdravko Kuzmanovic had the chance to equalize the score with a right footed shot and missing the target over the bar!  The frustration of Kuzmanovic for not scoring while Adrian Mutu observes along all Fiorentina fans for not winning this match. Such a bad luck for Fiorentina. Now the road is complicated because according to the rules of the knockout competition.  Fiorentina will have to beat Ajax with 2 goals without conceding to have the greater aggregate of goals to qualify for the next round.
