David Beckham surprised with his inclusion in the UEFA Cup Official List of AC Milan

By Anna Italia

Not only many Milan fans were surprised with the news that Coach Carlo Ancelotti included David Beckham on the UEFA Cup list, but Beckham himself was surprised.  Though Beckham said he is certainly happy  because there are 2 important matches against Werder.

I think Ancelotti did the right thing because more than "a media marketing attraction," Beckham is really making a difference with the rossoneri.  Plus, if AC Milan's goal is to win the Scudetto and the UEFA Cup, then, they should use the most effective players, right?   I am sure Ancelotti will be doing turnovers with midfielders and not leaving outside competition the most identified Milanisti like Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo and Massimo Ambrosini.   MIlan will play against Werder on February 18 and February 26, 2009.  So, Beckham makes it because he will return to California the first week of March to play with his team L.A. Galaxy.

Beckham believes that the opportunity to win the Scudetto  is still open including for Juventus and Milan.  By the way, Beckham is still taking Italian lessons and said few words in the interview.... I wonder whether it is towards a possible stay in Milan?
