RESULTS Weekly Roundup 2008 - 2009 Italian Serie A Week 22- Twenty Second Round, FIXTURES AND RESULTS with Scorers and Match Officials, Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1, 2009

By Anna Italia

Here is the Weekly Roundup,  FIXTURES AND RESULTS with Scorers and Match Officials  of the 2008 - 2009 Italian Soccer Serie A Week 22 - Twenty Second Round Matchday 22 Saturday, January 31 and February 1, 2009.

The match BOLOGNA - FIORENTINA was postponed because of bad weather and played today Monday, February 2.  Fiorentina beats Bologna and now takes the 5th position with 38 points while Bologna goes down to the 17th position with 22 points .

Guys, the race for the Scudetto is still on after TORINO managed to get a draw at the Giuseppe Meazza against Inter.  An upset for Inter not profiting from the defeat of Juventus to increase the distance.   The RACE FOR THE SCUDETTO IS OPEN!!!!  Milan beat Lazio and reached the second position of the Serie A Table shortening  the distance with Inter to 6 points!!!!!  Inter has 50 points, Milan 44 points and Juventus 43 points.

Hey, I am so happy with all the updates of the Serie A, also because my favorite tennis player RAFAEL NADAL won the Australian Open against Roger Federer. Though, I also like Federer, but my fitness role model is Nadal. Oh well.. back to soccer.....

The biggest upset on Saturday was also the joy for others.  David beath Goliath after 41 years FC Juventus 2 - 3 Cagliari!  Point is that Cagliari changed the roadmap to keep the race for the Scudetto alive by beating Juventus.  Juventus failed to do their strong comeback at the Olimpico and the joy of Cagliari was all over the stadium.  Juventus will hope for Torino to beat Inter or draw.

I would say the second upset was the draw between Napoli - Udinese.  Again, it depends who are you cheering for.  For Napoli fans, the draw at the San Paolo was not expected.  For Udinese fans, this draw is their way to their comeback and clim the ladder of the Serie A.

The Roman gladiators could not grasp the 3 points at the Oreste Granillo Stadium and Reggina equalize the score, It is an important point for Reggina still struggling for salvation.  Then a last minute goal for Genoa in the 88th minute by Domenico Criscito see Genoa victorious over Palermo.
