ON THE CLASH AGAINST UDINESE
“Tomorrow’s game will be an important game for us, but also for Udinese. They have started their season at the highest levels, but then had a dip in form and now they are recovering. It will be a delicate game also for us to close in the best way the year in a moment of emergency with a win, so to arrive to the break with a different mentality. Then we will have the training camp in Dubai and we can re-start the season well.”

ON THE ANTI-UDINESE FORMATION
“Abbiati, Maldini, Jankulovski, Antonini, Kaladze, Favalli, Pato, Ronaldinho and Kakà will surely play. Flamini will not be available, whereas today we shall evaluate the conditions of Pirlo, Emerson and Seedorf.”

ON DAVID BECKHAM’S ARRIVAL
“That of Bekcham is an important arrival for us. We welcome him and we’re sure that he’s a player who can help us during the ten games he will be available. He’s a very serious and professional player, and for the characteristics he has he can cover three roles in midfield. Physically he’s fine and we’re sure that he will give his contribution to the team.

“His contract is clear, he will not stay here longer than what has been established, March 9, but despite the fact that his stay is short, I’m convinced that his commitment will be equal to that of a Milan player. Many things will be said about him, but what interests me is that he trains so that I can play him, obviously if he deserves it between the competition.”

ON THE UEFA CUP DRAW
“The match against Werder Bremen will be a difficult clash, but at the same time motivating. It was a draw which reminded me a quarter final of high level, in the Champions League of 1989. It will therefore be a very motivating round. The team is fully charged and at the same time aware about the difficulties they will meet.”

ON THE PREPARATION AT DUBAI
“Milan will take advantage of this preparation period in Dubai, finishing off with a friendly game because the work will be finalized for all players, in particular those players who ended the year not in the best way.”

ON POSSIBLE PURCHASES DURING THE TRANSFER MARKET IN JANUARY
“I don’t expect any transfer market move, we are evaluating for the midfield department. With regards to the defence no one will arrive. A defender, even though not available yet, has already arrived.”
