Situation: Does miracle exist for Fiorentina?
A victory is the only thing Fiorentina that can give hope to keep the race in the UEFA Champions League race. Being in the third position with only 3 points while Lyon and Bayern Munich have 8 points each, make it almost impossible for Fiorentina to qualify to the next round considering there are only 2 more matches to play.
Ideal scenario for Fiorentina will be for Bayern to draw and win the match against Lyon to reach 6 points..... still .... it looks like a "chocolate rocky road ice cream," for my beloved Fiorentina....
Come on Viola!!! Forza ragazzi... let's bring the dream a reality....
The man to watch in Olympique is Juninho Pernambucano for his famous precision free kicks alla "Andrea Pirlo and Del Piero."
Let's wait for Referee Viktor Kassai to whistle the beginning of the match....
Here is the starting eleven formation for Fiorentina by Coach Cesare Prandelli:
Fiorentina (4-3-1-2): Sebastien Frey, Zauri, Alessandro Gamberini, Dainelli, Juan Manuel Vargas, Kuzmanovic, Felipe, Riccardo Montolivo, Santana, Alberto Gilardino, Adrian Mutu.
Here is the starting eleven formation for Olympique Lyon by Coach Puel:
Olympique Lyon (4-3-3): Lloris, Mensah, Cris, Boumsong, Fabio Grosso, Makoun, Toulalan, Juninho, Govou, Keita, Benzema.
As expected, guys, Fiorentina starts with the duo Giladino-Mutu. Lyon with a familiar face former Palermo defender Fabio Grosso. The one to fear from Lyon is also in "Juninho Pernambucano."
What a major blow for Firoentina! In the 15th minute, it is Olympique Lyon to open the score with Makoun! Imagine, a tragedy at the Artemio Franchi Stadium when Karim Benzema provides the assist to Makoun who shoots from the center of the area to the lower left corner blasting Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey! A silence! .
Fiorentina 0 - 1 Olympique Lyon
Fiorentina must awake and not let this early goal affect their morale. It's now or never for Fiorentina. Time to group and try to equalize in the next 15 minutes.
Wow??? Say what???? Unbelievable, no guys, what's going on with Fiorentina???? They were supposed to equalize and instead concedes another goal!!!!
In the 27th minute, goal by Karim Benzema blasting again Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey!!!!! A dark day and it seems hope for the Viola are vanishing.
Fiorentina 0 - 2 Olympique Lyon
Excellent! Fiorentina finally scoring in the end of the first half!!!! In the 45th minute, an assist by forward Mario Santana to forward Alberto Gilardino heading the ball from the center of the area to the top left corner. Guys, there is hope. Fiorentina now shortening the distance. It's a match to win because a draw will not help the Viola. Forza!!!
Fiorentina 1 - 2 Olympique Lyon
No miracles at the Artemio Franchi and Fiorentina is out of the Champions League. A real tragedy especially for losing at home in front of their fans.
