Despite Gilardino's Intentional Handball Goal, Palermo Would Have Lost For Giving Too Much Space
By Contributing Writer Smokey66Unbelievable, the lawyers of Fiorentina forward Alberto Gilardino have already put in a Recorso / Petition to keep him playing, despite the decision of the Sport Justice giving him a 2 match suspension because his handball "was voluntary, intentional and not determined nor conditioned by the Dellafiore who was holding him in the previous moments."
The Sporting Justice reviewed TV evidence from Sky, Rai and Mediaset.
Match resulted in favor of Fiorentina beating Palermo after 17 years. Palermo 1 - 3 Fiorentina
Gilardino will miss the matches from Week 9 and Week 10 against FC Inter and AC Siena.

As for the game on Wednesday for the Italian Serie A Week 9, Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said that goalkeeper Amelia will not be playing for two reasons: 1. He is not over an earlier injury.
2. The way he is playing we dont need him, so
Alberto Fontana will be taking his place, and the Palermo
fans are really happy for this...
Zamparini also stated that even if the referee had taken away the goal by Gila, we still would have lost, because we gave them too much room on the returning plays. For me, it should have finished in a draw, 2-2, the goal kicked by Fabio Liverani was not for Simplicio, and the line judge still called off-side, oh well thats soccer (Questo è
il calcio).
A lot of people are really putting down Gilardino for not saying anything after the goal, and also after the match. Gialrdino even went on national tv, and said it was not intentional, fine, let the judges worry about it.
We need to turn the page, and start thinking of the game against Lecce....
