It's time to start waving our Italian flags and cheer for our Azzurrini! Forza Azzurrini.
As expected, Inter forward Mario Balotelli did not make it and is out for flu. Casiraghi chooses Cagliari forward Robert Acquafresca to replace him.
Here is the starting eleven formation for Italy Under 21 by Coach Pierluigi Casiraghi:
Italia (4-3-2-1): Andrea Consigli; Marco Motta, Marco Andreolli, Domenico Criscito, Francesco Pisano; Daniele Dessena, Luca Cigarini, Claudio Marchisio; Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, Sebastian Giovinco; Robert Acquafresca.
Here is the starting eleven formation for Israel Under 21 by Coach Mordehay 'Motti' Iwanir:
Israel: (4-5-1): Ohad Levita, Omri Kende, Oshri Roash, Gan, Tayacho Chekol, Gai Asulin, Almog Cohen, Sheran Yeiny, Bebars Natcho, Yoval Avidor, Shimon Abihazira.
In the 6th minute, the first clear chance for the Azzurrini to open the score with Marchisio.
In the 10th minute, Juventus midfielder Giovinco starts showing his magic skills skipping two opponents and the ball passed kissing the post... so close!!!
In the 14th minute, a group combination between Marco Motta, Acquafresca and Osvaldo, geee... only to be interrupted by Roasch and Gan.
The first 15 mintues dominated by our Azzurrini. It is a joy watching Giovinco. Bravo.
Suddenly, the Azzurrini slowed down... oh no, they better wake up and take control of the ball again.
In the 19th minute, a wasted goal opportunity when Osvaldo missed to finalize the action after passing all the midfield to send a pass to Giovinco but the ball goes too long!
In the 22nd minute, it is Israel creating more opportunities. Avidor shoots from long distance from the right. I hope Casiraghi signals the Azzurrini to speed up the rhythm.
In the 30th minute, Referee Duarte Nuno gives a yellow card to Israel Kende.
Oh no, just a minute later and another yellow card! This time Referee Duarte Nuno booked Dessena!
In the 43rd minute, the first forced substitution for Italy. Marco Andreolli cannot continue and Salvatore Bocchetti replaces him.
The Azzurrini must take control of the match again. Losing concentration can ruin the entire season! Hello.
Oh no, guys, what a luck! In the 43rd minute, Referee Duarte Nuno gives a yellow card to Giovinco, which means for accumulation, he will miss the next match in Israel. This is bad because Giovinco is the running force for the Azzurri.
The Azzurrini are losing control just in the end of the first half. Imagine even Casiraghi had to be calm down!
Most likely Ignazio Abate will come in the second half.
In the 52nd minute, corner for Italy and Giovinco takes the corner. Too bad, the ball misses the target.
I can't believe no goals and the Azzurrini losing concentration. Is not that the fans at the Stadium are happy.
In the 55th minute, Israel makes the first substitution. Yoval Avidor out, Etey Shechter in
30 more minutes and I don't see any goals. Not seeing a concentrated group. I thought the Azzurrini were going to be ore aggressive on the second half and score withing the first 10 minutes. No, nothing,
In the 62nd minute, Casiraghi makes his second substitution. Robert Acquafresca out, Ignazio Abate in.
In the 65th minute, Casiraghi makes his last substitution Dessena out, Piermario Morosini in.
Unbelievable, Italy playing at home and not showing determination. Commentators from RAI ITALIA are also saying the same that Italy seems too nervous and proof are the yellow cards received for actions that could have been avoided. Giovinco seems more nervous than ever.
In the 87th minute, Giovinco with a chance to redeem himself when shooting towards the goal. Though, Israel goalkeeper Levita saves without a problem.
Oh no... making matters worst for Italy Under 21 coach Pierluigi Casiraghi will be missing so many key players on the return next week. In the 88th minute, Referee Duarte Nuno books Marchisio. So, Marchisio wil be also out on Wednesday.
Fans started to whistle and protest. Guys, I don't blame them. I expected more from the Azzurrini.
The one showing more determination is Fiorentina forward Osvaldo. Yet, the ball cannot break the Israeli defense.
What a luck!
Well, this goalless draw is more like a defeat. Going now to Israel next week will be an uphill mountain. Plus, not having Giovinco is a major lost too.
