Bonjour mes amis / buon giorno / good morning my friends!

I am following the match on the French radio RTL radio.rtl-lequipe.fr/player.html

Here is  the starting eleven by Lyon Coach Puel:

LYON (4-3-3): Lloris; Reveillere, Kallstroem, Bodmer, Boumsong; Toulalan, Juninho, Makoun; Govou, Fred, Benzema.

Here is the starting eleven formation by Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli:

FIORENTINA (4-3-3): Frey; Zauri, Kroldrup, Dainelli, Vargas; Kuzmanovic, Melo, Montolivo; Almiron; Gilardino, Mutu.

What seems to be a victory for Fiorentina winning with two goals by Forward Alberto Gilardino, turned into a complete nightmare.

Beautiful dream starts in the 11th minute when Fiorentina defender Luciano Zauri sends a cross to Gilardino who heads the ball from the center of the area to the center of the goal blasting Lyon goalkeeper Lloris.
Lyon 0 - 1 Fiorentina

Lyon, Wednesday, September 17, 2008 UEFA Champions League Group Stage -  Here is Gilardino celebrating his first goal.

Moments of glory continued in the 42nd minute. Unbelievable, a thing that Prandelli or any other Fiorentina would have imagined.   Gilardino scoring his second goal in the first half!!!  A total paradise for Fiorentina defeating Lyon in their home stadium with 2 goals!!!   Another headed goal from the center of the area  this time to the bottom right corner after an assist by Adrian Mutu.  What a moment for Gilardino scoring a doppietta, a brace!
Lyon 0 - 2 Fiorentina

Point is that Fiorentina was winning the match up to the 73rd minute!  Then, what happened?  Well, as "Monk" would say, here is what happened....

The nightmare started in the 65th minute when Lyon Coach substited Fred for Frederic Piquionne.  Eight minutes later, in the 73rd minute, it is the same Piquionne to start the nightmare for Fiorentina when blasting goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.
Lyon 1 - 2 Fiorentina

The reaction from Fiorentina coach was to make a second substitution three minutes after conceding this goal.  In the 76th minute, Zauri is out and Jorgensen in.

Here is my question.  Why Prandelli did not bringa forward instead in the 76th minute, instead of waiting until the 81st minute when substituing Alberto Gilardino and bringing Giampaolo Pazzini?  Maybe it was better to have Pazzini earlier and Jorgensen after.  Pressing from Lyon was there and the 2-1 score was not enough to sit back and defend.  The whole idea is to attack and score the more goals you can.

Anyway guys, in the 86th minute, a big stone shatters the window of Fiorentina waving bye bye to the 3 points and return home with a 1 point.  May I add... return home with guilt because the match was there already and nothing to say about Gilardino than just give him a standing ovation for doing his work which was to score goals.

So who do you blame?  What went wrong?  Well... have your say now.....
