The big day for FC Inter Coach José Mourinho making his debut with Inter in the Champions League.

The objective for Inter President Massimo Moratti is to win the Champions League and this match is the first step.  Now, it is up to Mourinho and the players to deliver a victory.

Here is the starting eleven from Panathinaikos by Coach  Henk Ten Cate:

Panathinaikos(4-3-3): 1 Galinovic; 24 Vintra, 23Cat Simao, 8 Goumas, 29 Nillson; 2 Moon, 15 Gilberto Silva, 4 Mattos; 10 Cleyton, 14 Salpingidis, 21 Karagounis.

A familiar face for the Interista with their former teammate Giorgios Karagounis playing now for Panathinaikos.  Karagounis played for Inter from the Summer of 2003 to 2005.

Here is the starting eleven from FC Inter by Coach Jose Mourinho:

Inter (4-3-3): 12 Julio Cesar; 13 Maicon, 2 Cordoba, 23 Materazzi, 6 Maxwell; 14 Vieira, 19 Cambiasso, 4 Zanetti; 33 Mancini, 8 Ibrahimovic, 77 Quaresma.

In the 27th minute, forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic provides an assist to Amantino Mancini who with a left footed shot from the left side of the box sends the ball to the bottom right corner blasting Panathinaikos goalkeeper Mario Galinovic.

Panathinaikos 0 - 1 FC Inter

Amantino Mancini in the moment of action... the Brazilian blasting to start the Samba Show Celebration....

Here I come open the way because I am celebrating this goal seems to say Mancini.. Thumbs up!

Samba time it is!!!! Here are Brazilian boys Inter defender Maicon and Mancini celebrating the goal!!

In the next 5 minutes after Mancini's goal, Panathinaikos had to clear chances to score and thanks God Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar made two saves.

In the 28th minute, Panathinaikos midfielder Bryce moon shoots from outside the box to the top right corner and is saved!!!  Then, right after in the 30th minute another clear chance to score when Karagounis's shot was blocked!

Moon was the constant danger for Inter and not giving up.  In the 38th minute, he tries again to blast Julio Cesar from long range and it is saved!

FC Inter coach Jose Mourinho makes his first two substitutions towards the hour.

62nd minute Vieira out, Muntari in

64th minute Quaresma out, Luis Figo in

Towards the end of the match a constant pressing by Panathinaikos trying to equalize the score. I was all nervous and hoping for Inter to keep the lead or even score another goal to play it safe.

Inter coach Jose Mourinho makes his third substitution in the 82nd minute, a forward by another forward.

Amantino Mancini out, Adriano in.

A great moment for Adriano returning to play in the Champions League. Imagine that Adriano made his first competitive appearance for Inter since last October 2007 in the Serie A math Reggina - FC Inter.

Imagine just three minutes later ADRIANO lives his glorious moment of the "RETURN OF THE EMPEROR."  In the 85th minute,  after  an assist by forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Adriano with a left footed shot from the center of the box to the high center of the goal goes  bam bam bam.. gooooallllll blasting Panathinaikos goalkeeper Mario Galinovic.

Panathinaikos 0 - 2 FC Inter

Ok, wait a minute, this goal deserves a cheer leading for Adriano and his comeback....

 Panathinaikos 0 - 2 FC Inter.

Panathinaikos continued to press and Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar proved to be a strong soldier, battling from right to left to keep all attempts of goals only as attempts.  He succeeded and did not concede a goal.

This photo says it all.  FC Inter coach Jose Mourinho and his star forward Sweden Zlatan Ibrahimovic not disappointing him but rewarding his trust by providing the two assist for Inter's goals!   SO GIVE ME FIVE IT IS!!!
