Covering the 2010 World Cup South Africa Qualifiers from an Italian Perspective
After the "miraculous victory" yesterday Cyprus 1 - 2 Italy thanks to the 2 precious goals from Italy and Udinese Forward Antonio Di Natale, the Italian National team returned to training for the next 2010 World Cup South Africa Qualifier match Italy - Georgia.
Bad news is that AC Milan midfielder is ruled out for Georgia after breaking his left wrist during a practice match of the Italian National team versus the Berretti dell"Italia San Marco, a squad from the C-2, in the training session today .
Here is what happened today Sunday, December 7, 2008 with our Italian National Team
h. 11.25 (12.25 l.t.) Departure in a charter flight from Cyprus to Trieste, Italy to transfer to Italy' headquarter in Gradisca d'Isonzo.
h. 16.30 Press Conference with Italy Head Coach Marcello Lippi at the Stadium Colaussi di Gradisca d’Isonzo
h. 17.30-18.00 Training at the Stadium Colaussi di Gradisca d’Isonzo (open to the press)

GRADISCA D'ISONZO (GORIZIA), Sunday, September 7, 2008 - The moment when Gattuso fell into the dugout during today's training session in a practice match game against the Berretti dell'Italia San Marco breaking his left wrist.
It seems the famous return of Italian Head Coach Marcello Lippi instead of being "spectacular," is causing the same worries that we had with the previous coach Roberto Donadoni. The match against Cyprus was far from convincing but winning by luck, even as admitted by Lippi.
Making the situation worst for the Azzurri not only we lost for injury defenders Alessandro Gamberini and Fabio Grosso, but today also losing AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso for injury - a metacarpal fracture!
During the match game in today's training, Gattuso fell into the dugout hitting his head and injuring his left wrist while trying to protect himself.
Gattuso left the training camp with a bag of ice in an ambulance to the Gorizia Hospital. Surgery done by Doctor Castellacci and other colleagues lasted half an hour under complete anesthesia. Gattuso will spend the night at the Hospital.
Sad news is that Italy doctor Enrico Castellacci confirmed that Gattuso is out after undergoing surgery for a dislocated bone in his left hand.
According to Doctor Castellacci, Gattuso will be out for about a month which also brings problems for AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti not having Gattuso ready at least in the next 4 matches. Wow, so much for bad luck. We better start praying for our Italian footballers.
The practice match game ended 11-0 for the Azzurri and forward Alessandro Del Piero scoring a poker!
Guys, this is great news because it is a sign that Del Piero is feeling better and might be in the starting eleven against Georgia after the poor performance from forward Luca Toni, Alberto Aquilani and Vincenzo Iaquinta scored 3 goals each. Ah... thanks God Luca Toni scored one goal too. Just hope this will be the beginning of more goals for Luca.
Do you think AC Milan will be really affected by the absence of Gattuso in the next month while he recovers, yes, no, and why?
How about the scorers during the practice match game, Del Piero, Aquilani, Iaquinta and Luca Toni scored, if choosing the 4-4-2 forwards which 2 forwards will you pick and why? and for the 4-3-3-?
