What a joy to see the enthusiasm from Catania forward Michele Paolucci reporting to his Catania fans from the headquarters of the Italian Under-21 Team.  As I was doing my daily check up with our Serie A clubs and found the note on Catania Official website.

Paolucci replaced Cagliari forward Robert Acquafresca who could not play for injury.  Paolucci will play the two matches of the European Championship 2007 - 2009  Under-21 qualifiers on September 5 Italy - Greece at Castel di Sangro at 21:00 and on September 9 at Varazdin, Croatia at 19:00 Croatia - Italy.

 About being called up only by an emergency, Paolucci said, "Debuts happen like this many times for injuries or disqualifications, nothing strange. I am happy. Obviously, I am very happy to continue my adventure with the Italy Under 21 National Team. I have already experienced the joy to wear the Azzurri jersey when playing for the Under-16 until now with the Under-21."

Paolucci, indeed, made his debut when playing for Ascoli with the Azzurrini on December 12, 2006 against Luxembourg U-21.  Paolucci replaced at half time forward Nicola Pozzi. (Italy U-21  2 - 0 Luxembourg).

I am so excited about Paolucci and how he is expressing his joy to his Catania followers. Just love it!  Paolucci debuted with Italy Under 21 in the match against Luxembourg. Guys, I can imagine the happy face of Paolucci seeing his Azzurrini teammates because he has grown professionally with some of them. It was destiny... and I hope Paolucci can shine in both matches.

"Sincerely, I want to share this satisfaction with the Club because if I had not been able to show my potential, I would have not been called up. I want to thank the coach and my teammates," added Paolucci.
