Good morning my Italian Soccer fans!!!

Finally, the day has come for the Serie A kickoff.  I am ready for the first match of the 2008-2009 Season  UDINESE - PALERMO. Are you ready?  I HOPE SO... I am ready with popcorn, sandwiches, protein drink. and you?

Just watching the match live now in RAI ITALIA. Wow, just so nice to see our football again!

Imagine, just in the 9th minute Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale scores the first goal of the match and from the SEASON!!! Awesome!  I Love it!  A perfect assist by Gokhan Inler and TOTO Di Natale shooting from the left side of the area with his right foot  shoots straight to the right angle blasting Palermo goalkeeper Amelia.

Guys, this is totally a DI NATALE showtime!  I love seeing him celebrate with his open arms like flying. So far, I am getting my first prediction right.  I predicted Udinese's victory.  knock on wood.... Forza.

In the 34th minute, just when I was making more popcorn, BAM! BAM! BA! Di Natale scores the second goal and I dropped my popcorn! Gaetano D'Agostino provides the assist and Di Natale from the center of the area shoots with his right foot blasting again Palermo goalkeeper Marco Amelia.
Is it cheer leading time for Di Natale?  You bet it is.
Go Di Natale, Go Di Natale, Go Di Natale!
Udinese 2 - 0 Palermo

Unbelievable, but just in the 44th minute and Udinese forward Fabio Quagliarella almost scored the third goal!  Wow... Palermo better wake up and smell the coffee because Udinese is dancing all over the field.

Just hope for Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli to score.  I LIKE MICCOLIIIIIIIIIIII.

Wonder whether Palermo will react or not. I am not convinced that Palermo made a good signing with goalkeeper Marco Amelia. I keep wondering why he is the second goalkeeper of Italy when his ex team finished in the last position and even relegated to the Serie B. Is not that Amelia had a good season with Livorno. So, not sure whether he will make it with Palermo.

Second half starts with changes.
Palermo Coach Stefano Colantuono makes the first substitution.
46' Bosko Jankovic out, Mark Bresciano in

In the 67th minute, Udinese coach Pasquale Marino makes his substitution.
Pepe out, Motta in

wow, good to see the young Azzurrini getting playing time with the first team. Excellent. Bravo Motta.

Hey, hey, hey, look who is scoring, the substitute Bresciano!  Colantuono must be praying for the miracle. Well, he got this change right.

Click the video to watch the goal from Palermo Mark Bresciano for the  2-1.

In the 69th minute, wow, an unbelievable goal from Palermo Mark Bresciano shooting from the center of the area with his right foot and the ball goes  high to the right blasting the net of Udinese goalkeeper Handanovic.
Udiense 2 - 1 Palermo

Now we are talking business... distances are shortened and Palermo might equalize the score and take 1 point instead of losing the entire 3 points or Udinese hold tight to keep the 3 points.

Just a minute pass, and guess what? what!  Well, hello, hello, Udinese forward Fabio Quagliarella with a powerful shot scared again Palermo goalkeeper Amelia but he stopped.. So a corner for Palermo.

Here comes the big moment. In the 70th minute assist from Gaetano D'Agostino, who made the assist for the first goal too, sends the ball to Gokhan Inler who heads the ball from the right of the area to the center blasting an already disappointed Palermo goalkeeper Marco Amelia.  Wow, unbelievable.
Udinese 3 - 1 Palermo

In the 76th minute, finally Palermo Coach Stefano Colantuono substitute CAVANI!!!!  Time for young forward Lanzafame.

The more I see Cavani, the more disappointed I am.  Wonder why Zamparini did not sign ex Inter forward David Suazo who wanted to stay in Italy instead of going to Benfica. Come on, Cavani is not having his best moment right now. Well, maybe it will change in the next matches. Though, I still think Suazo would have been perfect for Palermo.

Things not working for Palermo and in the 79th minute there it comes the third substitution.
Migliaccio out, and Simplicio in

This is just a BLACK AND WHITE party with only 10 more minutes.  Doubtful Palermo can make two goals with what we have seen so far.  Only hope is for Miccoli and Lanzafame to do some miracle here.

That's it. Palermo not only out of the Coppa Italia by a Serie C team but also losing today the first match of the 2008 - 2009 Season.  Zamparini must be furious right now and Colantuono better start looking for solution, starting with the defense.
