What can I tell you about this match? Just by looking at the score you can tell that THERE WAS NOT BATTLE AMONG SUPER POWERS. Not at all. Argentina dominated the match, I might say, Barcelona forward Lionel Messi dominated the match and stole the show from AC Milan forward Ronaldinho. Adding a frustrating match, Brazil ends with 9 players in the last 10 minutes after 2 players Lucas and Thiago Neves got a red card in the second half.
I was following the match because there are 3 players from our Italian Serie A. Napoli forward for Argentina, and AC Milan forwards Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho. The blog supported all three players. However, Lavezzi did not play but was among the substitutes. Ronaldinho played the complete match while Pato entered as a substitute in the second half.
In the beginning of the much almost everybody expected an EPIC BATTLE...
When I saw the players singing the nathonal anthem of Brazil and the close up to Ronaldinho, my heart exploded of joy for my Milanisti players. Too bad Alexandre Pato was not in the starting lineup. He was in the subs.
Well... that was it.. my joy stayed there because during the first half my "smile disappeared" seeing a tired Ronaldinho, not running at all, not making any magic. Instead, I watched Super Messi running like crazy everywhere! He was a defender, a midfielder, a forward, Messi was just doing Show Time... while Ronaldinho forgot that he was supposed to give show time too.

Imagine how frustrating was the EPIC BATTLE that the best moment was rather seeing Diego Armando Maradona in the tribune when the camera showed a close up in the 26th minute.
The action in the field was frustrating waiting for Ronaldinho to start running and seeing how Argentina forward Sergio "El Kun Aguero" missed at least three clear opportunities to score.
Messi was already upset that in the 31st minute when Aguero mised another chance, the camera showed a closed up of an upset Messi wiht Aguero.
First half ends 0 - 0.
Finally, in the second half after failing so much. El Kun Aguero opens the score for Argentina in the 53rd minute.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - 2008 Semifinal Man Football Olympic Beijing Argentina - Brazil - El Kun Aguero celebrating in grand style his first goal in the Olympics against Brazil .....
Just 4 minutes later and after missing so many opportunities, El KUN Aguero decided that it was HIS SHOW TIME. In the 57th minute, Aguero scored his second goal!!!!! You bet the happy father in law "DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA" was the happiest man watching from the tribune this victory of Argentina with his son in law rocking.

Look who is here, Brazilian defender Alex Silva dueling with Aguero, a possible transfer to AC Milan, since the transfer of Chelsea defender Ivanovic did not work. So, Milan can take a look at Silva in action.
In the 74th minute, total lost of control of Brazil when they concede a penalty. Hello, hello, hello... taking the spot was Juan Roman Riquelme and you bet he did not miss. By now, show was over and the samba started to cry while the Tango with the notes of "Carlitos Gardel" started to sound .....
Argentina 3 - 0 Brazil
Brazil was already frustrated seeing time running by that they lost control. Imagine in less than 5 minutes 2 players were sent off with red cards!
I totally agree with the great ex Napoli forward Diego Armando Maradona that "Aguero exploded, Riquelme and Messi made an excellent match. Though, we must be careful with Nigeria, they might not be Brazil but they should be respected."
The positive thing I like about this match was the friendly hug at the end between Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho. Totally genuine from two good friends.
Plain truth, Argentina deserved this victory. A tough lesson for Brazil and Ronaldinho.

Brazil will play for the Bronze Medal against Belgium and Argentina for the Gold against Nigeria.
