AS ROMA - Tribute to President Franco Sensi
Headline says, "The death of AS Roma Presidnet: A unanimous sorrow. Italy feels the loss of Sensi, a great man."
Anna Italia Opinion - I am impressed and glad to see how Italy is united and pouring their heart out to support the Sensi family and the AS Roma club.
The article is full of quotes, messages from different representatives of Italian football.
Sensi passed away on Sunday, August 17 at 11:35 p.m. at the Hospital "Ospedale Gemelli."
- Today, Tuesday, tribute to Sensi at the Campidoglio in Roma for all family, fiends, and fans to give their last tribute fro 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
- Funerals, Wednesday, 12 p.m. Church of San Lorenzo by Monsignor Francesco Gioia and Piero Marini.
- I was touched when visiting today the Official website of Roma and found only "a black screen with white letters saying "Addio Presidenti," meaning "Good bye President."
- Roma channel interrupted their regular transmission and just have a photo of President Sensi saying "Roma Channel si unisce al dolore della famiglia per la scomparsa del presidente Franco Sensi". Meaning, the Channel unites with the Sensi family on the grief for the death of Pres. Sensi.
I feel good to see even Italy's President Giorgio Napolitano sending his most sincere condolences to the Sensi family and hightlighting the achievements by Sensi with the Roma club.

Roma players, starting with AS Roma Captain Francesco Totti, have all expressed their words of support in memory of Franco Sensi, including Alberto Aquilani, Taddei and former Roma players Amantino Mancini and Antonio Cassano.
The common feeling among all representatives of Italian football including former Roma coach Fabio Capello and Carlo Mazzone who was the first coach hired by Sensi .
Pending things as mentioned in the article are the request to name a street after Franco Sensi and to build the AS Roma stadium with the name of Sensi too.
JUVENTUS - Transfer Market
Headline says, "Juventus: Stendardo or Terlizzi."
Anna Italia Opinion - Although Juventus President Cobolli said in the last days that the market was closed, today, after the injury of central defender Giorgio Chiellini during the match against AC Milan in the Berlusocni Trophy, Juve has the rush to find solutions.
Point is that Juventus right now needs to have a back up in the defense. The two names that comes to the market are Catania defender Christian Terlizzi and Lazio defender Guglielmo Stendardo.
Stendardo played for Juve during the second part of last season and returned this season to Lazio. Juventus could not keep Stendardo because Lazio was asking 12 million euros which was too much money for the Juventini.
A better option for Juventus might be Catania defender Christian Terlizzo who might join Juve "on loan" with Catania's right to get back his contract. Advantage is that Terlizzi would join immediately Juventus. So, if we talk about "saving money," then Juventus might opt for Terlizzi.
Here comes the irony with Juve and Milan because Juventus is also interested in Alex Silva, the one that Milan were negotiating before changing their route and going for Chelsea defender Ivanovic, the one that Juventus was pursuing. Problem for Milan is that Chelsea said no and now they have to go back to Silva. But will Silva still want to come to Milan after knowing he is seen as a secod choice or go to Juventus? Other name mentioned in the article is Thiago Silva from Fluminense. ha incantato gli osservatori di mezza Europa.
AC MILAN - Transfer MarketHeadline says, "Alternative for Milan Kovac or Alex Silva. The option for Ivanovic disappearing."
Anna Italia Opinion - I am super happy that Chelsea said no to AC Milan for the transfer of Chelsea defender Ivanovic. I kept protesting about this transfer since Mialn changed their interest for Alex Silva to Ivanovic. Excuse me, knock, knock, anybody home?
Milan wanted to have a backup while Alessandro Nesta and Kakha kaladeze recover, but hello just mentioning the names "NESTA, KALADZE" with the inexperience of Ivanovic in the big games considering that HE HAS NOT PLAYED IN CHELSEA since they bougth him for 14 millions, made me just explode!!! Making matters worst, Ivanovic is considered only the fourth defender! I better count to ten to calm down because honestly, Milan's leaders are making me lose my patience.
I just hope Chelsea won't change their mind. IT IS JUST COMMON SENSE that if you need a replacemet for Nesta and Kalaze, you rather have a defender proving to be active and in good form.
Point is that Milan got rid "IN ANTICIPATION" of defenders Datio Simic and Digao without having get a back up. Can you imagine what would happen and Bonera and Maldini also get injured? HELPPP!!! Milan has to hurry up and make "wise transfer market decisions.
The article mentions that Milan has 2 alternatives: Defender Kovac, 29 years old from Spartak Moscow and Brazilian Alex Silva, 23 years. Silva is playing right now with the Brazilian national team along with Pato and Ronaldinho. Would not be easier for Milan to find out from the Milanisti, especially RONALDINHO, who is the one "fabricating the MONEY for the market with all the revenues from the Ronaldinhomania." They will have a better knowledge on how well they see Silva to join Milan or not. Plus, Milan will pay half the money Chelsea wants for Ivanovic around 10 million euros. Silva and Kovac can get 5 million. Hey, that's a bargain.
FC INTER - Controversy
Headline says, "Ibrahimovic against Mancini: Mourinho has made a better Inter."
Anna Italia Opinion - Now, here, I just had it. HOw in the world can a player judge the work of a coach like former Roberto Mancini winning 3 straight Scudettos with newly coach Jose Mourinho saying he has made a better Inter? Excuse me, we have not even started the Serie A 2008 - 2009 season !!!!
Sure, Ibrahimovic might say that in the dressing room maybe Mourinho has done a better job, but excuse me, knock, knock.... isn't it too early to say this? Ibrahimovic was all "honeymoon" with Mancini when he was the consented one but once he was no longer the "star," he started protesting against Mancini. Will Ibra do the same against Mourinho once he is no longer consider as "Mourinho's favorite forward?"
I think that Ibrahimovic, who by the way missed the penalty in the Benfica Cup, better watch out. Moratti and Mourinho have their hope on Ibra to work side by side to the genius plan of Mourinho to win the Champion League, but if Ibrahimovic fails to score goals in those "matches where it really counts." I am afraid he will soon be changing his tune. Don't you think?
Let's see how Mourinho handle the pressure once the Season starts and he has to worry about the Champions League too. Only then.... Ibra might say whether Mourinho has done a better Inter. Oh well... I rest my case...
The article here is about the confirmed news that Lazio forward Tommaso Rocchi will be out for arournd 40 days.
The first name coming in the minds of Lazio is former forward and icon Hernan Crespo. Yet, Lazio President Lotito and coach Delio Rossi have not decided whether they will pursue a transfer.
First option is Crespo but the problem is the "high cost." Yet, Crespo also hinted that he might want to return to Lazio. I am sure Crespo would rather lower his salary and convinced Inter to let him go than staying warming up the bench in Inter. If Crespo goes to Lazio, he will have the chance to make his come back. Supposedly, Lazio and Inter will be talking about it.
If Crespo's transfer fails, then Lazio will opt for Mutarelli and Makinwa in exchange for Bogdani.
2008 Semifinal Man Football Olympic Tournament
The article makes reference to the RONALDINHO-MESSI show.
The match will start in about an hour at 6 am my time in California. So I need to hurry up and finish reading the newspaper.
Ronaldinho represents the Italians being the new AC Milan forward while Lionel Messi his former teammate in Barcelona represents Argentina and the Spanish league. The show is set to see who rules. I am ready ..... good, done on time with the newspaper reading too.
Have a good day...

I see you started with Materazzi birthday wishes. Man, Mark will be waving that Inter flag LOL
Roma: Man, i am glad they are having the tribute to Sensi, Anna if you can add a video of the tribute maybe?
Funerals tomorrow. Yes, man, i agree that the Nazionale takes a one minute silence in memory of Sensi just like Napolitano being the President recognizing the good things Sensi did.
I did not know Mazzone was the first coach hired by Sensi, man, always good to know.
Also i was surprised too about the interruption of Roma channel and the black screen on Roma website. Man, my condoslesces again to Sensi family and all Roma fans. Totti must be really sad and yes I agree with the stadium name and the street.
Forza Roma

Pietro FORZA INTER, I am waving my Inter flag since I saw the post in the morning. LOL
It is a sad moment for Italian football but good to see how all are united. I knew about Mazzone, I beat you on this one Pietro LOL.
Now the interruption of the Roma channel that surprised me to keep just the photo like the website only the white letter with good bye.
No doubt name and Stadium for sure should be for Sensi, 15 years is a long time to dedicate to a club.

I join u guys, its sooo sad, and I hope Roma can really build a studiam after Sensi he deserves all the best! May God Bless him!

I wonder if Rosella Sensi will continue to lead Roma or passing the leadership to another one. Just hope the Sensi continue leading the club.

Juventus: If they could not afford Stendardo before why they want to go back to the same deal 12 million!!!? Man, would not be better to take Terlizzi at half prize? The man wants to play for Juve and if there are not much difference between Steandardo and Terlizzi, man, without double thnking i go for Terlizzi.
Juve wants also Alex Silva? oh man, what is Milan doing after Ivanovic and losing Silva? I don't get it, a guy who is playing and young ready to come and with more things in common with Milan and not taking him? Instead getting a player not playing, new, and not enough compatibility with the Little Brazilian Community, is crazy1 Milan is losing perspective.
Reply to this
Who understand Juve? Not having 12 million and they want Stankovic too, is not that Inter will give the transfer on sale! But I don't think Terlizzi is a player for Juve. Alex Silva if you guys don't sign him will be good for Juve or even for us. Silva can fit with our Brazilians too Julio Cesar, Adriano LOL

Milan: Galliani and company testing my patience! Man, we got another one, Kovac? I insist on getting Alex Silva. I disagree with Nina who is happy Simic and Digao are gone. I know they were not good but rather than being in danger for backup right now they should have transfered them until being sure of signing a defender. That's my whole point. Man, just don't want Bonera to be injured too.
5 millions for Kovac or Silva is a bargain, man. Go get them, just don't sing Ivanovic.
Reply to this
LOL, you need a tylenol Pietro? LOL I know, seeing the thing from outside I must tell you that what you guys are doing with your defense market is just a joke. Ivanovic not playing 6 months, Chelsea wanting more money and not letting him go as if they have given him any opportunity. You already lost for injury Nesta, Kaladze, God forbids Maldini get injured and got rid of Simic and Digao???????? 5 millions I will sign Alex Silva. I see your point and that's what I am telling you. Milan marketing is upside down.

I agree with u Pietro 100%! come on how in the world are Milan planning??? come on get a DEf first then get rid of one!!! I TOO WANT SILVA!!!!
Reply to this
Milan99, it is totally insane the way Milan is doing their marketing.... I rather have Silva too but seems they are after Kovac now.

I know Anna, and today they want Sheva back! what is wrong with them???

Inter: Man, what's wrong with Ibra? Mark, I need your input on this subject immediately. Man, i agree with Anna's view that it is too early to say that Mourinho had done a better job wiht the team than Mancini. Oh man, i don't like the way Inter is treating Roberto Mancini at all and I am not an interista but common sense, man. The guy gave Inter what no other coach did in the past 3 scudetto in a row. No, this is the news that really surprised me, I think Ibrahimovic is an ungrateful player, well, i don't have to be surprised after all he left Juve too when they needed him after he became Ibra with them.
Mark, comment on this.

To tell you the truth, it was a shock to read this part. I agree with Anna that it is too early to say that Mourinho did a better Inter even if he refers to the dressing room.
I still have my doubts that Mourinho can do even the same Mancini did giving us 3 scudetti. Just in case I am keeping Mancini's number handy. LOL.

I agree with u guys Mark, Pietro and also Anna! gee what was Ibra thinking??? just like u said Anna he just missed a penalty and maybe he'll lose #1 at Inter so Ibra don't be overconfidence cause u might LOSE!!!! Honestly I was surprised to read this because I highly think of Ibra and never thought he'd make such a statement!!!!
Reply to this
Milan99 I was like HUM, REALLY, SAY WHAT!!!??
Ibrahimovic lost his common sense when saying such a statement.... I think Inter is being so ungrateful to Roberto Mancini, don't you think?
Well, I have my problems with Ibrahimoivc since how he abandoned Juventus but forgave him because he did not feel the love for the club as Del Piero, Buffon, Camoranesi but making remarks like this.... he should start saying..
MEA COLPAAA

Girl and what will we say about today, he so upset Sweden, he seriously lost my respect!!!!!

Lazio: Guys, Lotito would do himself a good benefit if he gets Crespo back. Man, Crespo is so desperate to prove he is still a top foward and if he gets the chance to play often we might see wonders in Lazio. I don't have a doubt about it.
Makinwa instead of Crespo? No, anyway is not that Inter really want Crespo because he is fourth option at this point with the lastest preference for Adriano.
Reply to this
I hate to admit it but it is true, Crespo doesn't seem to be in mourinho's plans among the top three strikers. Mourinho is putting his main focus on Ibrahimovic and Adriano, then he has Cruz and Mancini. To do justice to Crespo, it will be better if he goes to Lazio.

Opposite of u Mark! I LOVE TO SAY THAT! BECAUSE COME ON I'M AN MILAN FAN AND MY FAVE PLAYER AT INTER COME ON DOES THAT MAKE SENSE TO U???? CRESPO TO LAZIO...PRAYING FOR THAT!!!! AND I HOPE HE DOES WONDERS AS PIETRO PUTS IT!

Pietro, do we really need to comment on this match after what we went through this morning?
Pietro but today the newspaper was full with good stuff, I like when they include many news in the front page not like La Gazzetta choosing 2 or 3 in front page. I like this one better because it gives me an idea on what is going on daily in Italy, plus it is fun to read it in group with our coffees, cappucino, pasta al forno, LOL
good. I like it. see you tomorrow morning for our coffee mornings reading. I won't be here tonight, will sleep early.
By everyone.
Greetings to Milan99, Nina, Johonna, Monica, Jina, Nigel,
We forgot about tomorrow for the Italy-Austria, ok, we talk about it tomorrow morning.
good nite.
