AS ROMA - Transfer MarketHeadline says, "Roma-Baptista it is done."
Anna Italia Opinion - I am glad this transfer market which started around 2 month ago finally reached a happy ending.
I was afraid it was going to be another INTER-LAMPARD case without a happy ending.
Whether Julio Baptista is the man Roma needs or not, that's another story.
Good thing is that Roma got the full contract of Baptista and will give Real Madrid 9 million Euros. Baptista will get 4,5 million euros per season.
Wow, not bad right? Imagine 4 million per season, gee, I wish I can earn some of that money, don't you?
Roma will make the payment to Real Madrid in 3 payments.
In case of Roma qualifying to the Champions League, it will pay an additional 1 million Euro to Real Madrid.
Well not a bad deal. I think Roma at least will improve the current squad. Now we got see Baptista in action with the giallorossi.
A first good test will be in the Italian Supercoppa against Inter on Sunday, August 24. Don't you think?
FC JUVENTUS - Champions League
Headline says, "Juve, 30 million euros!" Qualifying in Champions League could reopen the transfer market and Stankovic is the first name in Ranieri's list.

Great way for Juventus to make good money, hello, hello, 30 million euros it is a big deal.
Juventus already won the first leg. Juventus 4 - 0 Artmedia, now they will win the second leg.
Point is that if Juventus pass this qualifying round, sponsors can start forming a line to be connected with Juventus in the Champions League. Fact is that Juventus is convincing match after match that they "mean business" and ready to win every competition. Plus, super Captain and forward Alessandro Del Piero proving to be ready for the assignment to take Juventus all the way to the final of the Champions League.
However, I really don't get why Juventus keep insisting on Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic. Honestly, I am losing patience. On one hand, most of Juventus fans are not allowing this transfer and their voice had been heard by President Cobolli. On the other hand, most Juventus players are dreaming to have Stankovic in teh squad.
It seems Juventus is riding a "merry go round," because we return to the same two players: Stankovic and AS Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani. I am not sure Roma will let Aquilani go.
Problem is that Juventus right now must think quick but without losing perspective. Zanetti and Marchisio will be out for injury about 1 month. It means, according to the article, that Juventus will play their debut against Fiorentina olnly with Poulsen and Sissoko. Crazy... well, Juventus got no choice but to arrange players and pray to Saint goalkeepe Gigi Buffon to keep a clean sheet.
Guys, this is a news that really makes me happy. It says that CHELSEA after all the negotiations with AC Milan decided not to go ahead with the transfer market of Chelsea defender Ivanovic.
Latest news, according to the article, is that Chelsea is saying now that Ivanovic IS NOT FOR SALE. Well, excuse me, who understand Chelsea? They paid 14 million euros to Lokomotiv Moscow for Ivanovic, yet, in 6 months the guy has not played a single match!!!
Now, they are not selling his contract? Let me just enjoy this moment. I don't think Ivanovic was the defender needed at Milan in the first place! Milan needs an experienced central defender, meaning someone who has played i the last months at least. We are talking about replacing Alessandro Nesta and Kakha Kaladze until they recover from injuries. And, with all respect to Ivanovic, but he is not a match for these two great defenders.
Now, my question is what was the point of Milan to let go defender DARIO SIMIC to Monaco when they did not have a guaranteed replacement? Tell me about it....
NAPOLI - UEFA Cup
| Click here to buy your I Love Napoli" shirt.... ![]() |
Headline says, "Pia-Denis, it is a super Napoli."
Anna Italia Opinion - I agre with the article saying it is "SOUTH AMERICAN PARTY" in Napoli. Doppietta, two goals by Pia and another one by Argentinian forward German Denis. Vllaznia 0 - 3 Napoli
Now, Napoli will play the second round at the San Paolo Stadium. Napoli dominated the match and did not lose control. Imagine 15,000 Albanian fans and only 800 Napoli fans.. Still, it was a big party at the stadium with those 800 Napoli fans representing all Italy.
The one super happy is Napoli Coach Edy Reja because he is seeing his dream to qualify for the UEFA Cup almost a reality. Napoli waited 14 years to come back to an European competition since December 7, 1994 and is REJA giving this joy to the fans.
The Italian Olympic National Team
The Azzurrini playing tomorrow the Olympic Football Tournament Beijing 2008 Quarterfinals against Belgium.
Great performance from the Azzurrini in the first two matches. Despite the injury from Lazio forward Tommaso Rocchi, it seems Italy coach Pierluigi Casiraghi will present the formation from the first match with Robert Acquafresca. Now, it is also the chance for Napoli forward Andrea Russotto to show what he has.
I think the four key players are goalkeeper Viviano, midfielder Giovinco and forwards Giuseppe Rossi and Robert Acquafresca.
EUSEBIO CUP
The article says that Inter coach Jose Mourinho will face today the EUSEBIO Cup with Ibrahimovic, Mancini and Luis Figo.
In other words, it seems this will be most likely the first option for the championship too. Though, Adriano is out for injury for about one month.
The article mentions that Mourinho is practically missing an entire team due to injuries including: Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, Marco Materazzi, Walter Samuel, Patrick Vieira, Christian Chivu, Rivas, Adriano and Dacourt.
Point is that the dream of Mourinho to use the duo Ibrahimovic-Adriano continues to be A DREAM. So, now the whole thing changed. How about if the trio Ibrahimovic-Mancini-Figo works? wow, what will happen to Adriano? and Cruz?
The Eusebio Cup is today Friday, August 15 in Lisbon, Portugal against Benfica.

Good morning Pietro and Mark.
I had to prepare a ham and cheese sandwich after Pietro got us hooked on it.

ROMA: Hey, Mark, finally we got a happy ending and Moratti should he listening how to do business.
Anna i am also doubtful Baptista is what Roma needs but right now he seems right because all the injured players and Roma in terrible shape.
For the Supercoppa Italia, he better work because I am for ROMA.
What's your take Mark?
Reply to this
Pietro what got my attention is that they got even installment payments. We gave so many chances to Lampard for nothing.
Supercoppa Italia, you guys are in deep problem and I hope my Inter win this trophy. Baptista, not afraid of him, we have Super Ibrahimovic and savior Julio Cruz.
Reply to this
LOL Pietro that's my point! MORATTI SHOULD LEARN HOW TO BUSINESS!!!!!LOL
I've said before that I think Roma should have gotten a better player but I hope Baptista will help Roma greatly!

Juventus: Man, 30 million euros, Anna I want a piece of those 30 millions too.
Man, not a doubt that sponsors will make a line to be connected with Juventus, they know Juve is traditiona and has a name worldwide.
Transfer? Stankovic out of the question, I rest my case. Aquilani, also, I rest my case, Both can stay with their clubs. What's your take?
Reply to this
Pietro just like you, I rest my case with the transfer from Stankovic. I want him Inter but Mourinho seems not liking him. Aquilani? I think he will do better staying with Roma.
30 million euros we can have 1 million and manage to form a football team "Italian Soccer Serie A BLOG team" LOL
we put Nina, Jinnah, and everybody to train. LOL

Stankovic: Mourinho when he first came to Inter that Dejan would be a special project for him - Mou wants him back to what he was at Lazio. Also, dont forget, Inter have a squad of like 25 (plus keepers) and Mou wants 21 (plus keepers) so who is going to go?
I am of mixed minds over Dejan: if he can find his form, and Vieira remains so injury-prone, then we keep him. If he continues with the slack passes and poor marking, offload!
Aquilani is being touted as the heir to Totti. They will only release him if the club is in the most dire of straights.
Reply to this
Johonna: There is no way Vieira can be a guarantee taking so long to recover and getting rid of Stankovic will only work against us. I think Mourinho should put his personal likes and dislikes aside. You know Mihajlovic said that he did not like Stankovic because he was a friend of Mancini.
As for Aquilani, I don't think he is the heir to Totti, it is Daniele De Rossi the one most likely taking the lead for Roma.
Following the match today? Anna posted the link of a tv to watch the match. I am coordinating the internet party of the blog for our Inter and taking half day off now that the blog is supporting our INTER. I have to profit this rare occasion LOL.

Sponsors are not dummies, they know Juve can make them more money.

Milan: Anna I join you and let's do a cheer leading dance because Ivanovic not coming to Milan,
Go milan, go milan, go milan
LOL
I agree 100% with your argument on why Milan insist in this player that Chelsea did not consider him enough a top defender that preferred to keep him on the bench after paying 14 million. Man, crazy.
Dario? Man, Milan is not thinking straight, getting rid of Siminc and now we don't have another defender. Man, but maybe they go ahead with Silva, after all Pato and Dinho can give a good word for Milan.
What's your take guys?
Reply to this
Pietro and Anna i see your point clear. So, have no argument here, and hope you get Silva.
Next Pietro. LOL.. I am rushing to arrrive to INTER!!! LOL
Reply to this
NAPOLI: Mark, I see.. we will rush and arrive to Inter.
Napoli is a South American party and it has been almost all the time since Diego Maradona.
It will be shameful if Napoli lose at home. They can make it and waiting 14 years is wothwhile for them.
