It's Monday!  Good morning, buon giorno!

How was your weekend?  I had a very busy weekend between following the Serie A friendlies and the 2008 Olympics  Men Football Tournament.  I appreciate those who came to the blog to share your joy during the match of our Italian National Olympic team which started at 4:45 a.m. USA Pacific time. Nina, Milan99, Monica 08 and Pietro.

So, here I am ready for our daily "Coffee Morning Readings"  with my fresh home made cappuccino, a strawberry yogurt, and my glass of orange juice.  I wanted to have an espresso but will have that tomorrow.

How about you? Are you ready with your coffee, cappuccino, espresso, tea, juice, water, a snack?

Ok, so  let's enjoy our reading  of Italy's sports newspaper Il Corriere dello SportHere is the front page from this morning  Monday, August 11, 2008.

AC MILAN - Brazil National Olympic Team

Headline says, "Milan have you seen Ronaldinho?  Two goals, assist and show in China.  Even Pato scores.

Anna Italia Opinion - Boy, let me tell you, the Brazil we saw yesterday with the "SHOWMAN Ronaldinho" against New Zealand was so refreshing.
Brazil 5 - 0 New Zealand

Slowly but surely, Dinho is returning to his better days.  Contrary to the first match, yesterday Dinho was just everywhere and the remarkable aspect is how well the two milanisti understand each other on the pitch!

No wonder the headline asks the people in Via Turatti if they have seen Ronaldinho.  Sure, are you kidding me?  Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti must have been glued to the TV and even recorded the match to analyze Ronaldino's individual abilities and how he can use it for the benefit of the team.

I agree with the article saying that Ronaldinho was a "protagonist" in Brazil's victory against New Zealand.

Hello, hello, of course, he was! Dinho scored 2 goals one in a powerful free kick the other penalty. Plus he made an assist.  DING DING DING!!!!

If you did not see the match, try to get a copy or check for reruns.

Now, that Milan is in "DEEP TROUBLE" and I mean "DEEP TROUBLE" not only with injured defenders but also strikers!  The news of watching Ronaldinho getting back to shape and his connection with his Milanista teammate Alexandre Pato can only mean "MUSIC AND HONEY" to Coach Carlo Ancelotti.

I was doing the cheer leading dance for Pato and Ronaldinho.

Right now. Brazil leads Group C with 6 points and already qualified for the quarterfinals.  Come on, aren't you happy?  I AM for our Italian Serie A Players.

Italian National Olympic Team

Headline says, "Rocky's Party. Italy is in the quarterfinals."

Anna Italia Opinion - First guys, I must tell you that I have enjoyed watching the AZZURRINI and feel so proud for each one of them.  After Rocchi missed the first match against Honduras for injuring during the warm up training, yesterday he was ready and ROCKING! Boy was he rocking!

Rocchi was fundamental in the first goal by Giuseppe Rossi in the 15th minute.  Plus, Rocchi scored in the 32nd minute.  A great football show from the Baby Juventus Sebastian Giovinco.   Since the result of the first match was Honduras 0 - 3 Italy and this second match   Italy 3 - 0 South Korea, mathematically qualifies Italy for the quarterfinals!!!!

The point, as stated by Italy coch Pierluigi Casiraghi, is to win the next match against Cameroon on Wednesday to be the top leader of Group C.  However, even a draw will qualify Italy as the top leader.  Yet, come on guys, I want Italy to win the next match too and get 9 points.  Don't you think?

The good thing  is that all forwards have scored and Italy has not conceding a goal thanks to Goalkeeper Viviano and our defense.!

I agree with the article that Italy not only is winning but doing it convincingly!  Right now for the Azzurrini the top scorer is Giuseppe Rossi with 2 goals while Tommaso Rocchi, Sebastian Giovinco, and Robert Acquafresca have 1 goal each.  Our Azzurrini are winning every time more local Chinese fans delighted by the Giovinco show and Rossi.  Imagine, when Casiraghi substituted both, they left the field among applauses and Chinese fans chanting for the Azzurrini.

JUVENTUS AND FIORENTINA - Champions League

Headline says, "Juventus and Fiorentina heart beats towards the Champions League."  The long run towards Roma [place of the final].

Anna Italia Opinion - Now is the time for Juventus and Fiorentina to prove whether they have what it takes to pass the preliminary of the Champions League or not.

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli  choosing to go with the 4-3-3 formation in the match against Slavia Praga tomorrow Tuesday.

Prandelli choosing:  Frey as goalkeeper, Zauri, Gamberini, Droldup and Juan Manuel "EL LOCO" Vargas as defenders, Kuzmanovic, Felipe Melo and Donadel as midfielders, and Santana, Alberto Gilardino and Adrian Muti as forwards.

Wow guys, what a test for Fiorentina and I honestly wish they make it.  I want to see striker Alberto Gilardino unblock himself and start scoring consistently.  Forza Fiorentina.

Juventus, this is at least on paper, the most prepared.  We have seen all Juventus strikers rocking and ready to conquer Europe.  Needless to mention Saint goalkeeper Gigi Buffon.  I will be surprised if Juventus lose their match against Artmedia on Wednesday at the Olimpico di Torino stadium.   Last minute problem are injured Cristiano Zanetti and Marchionni and possible Mauro Camoranesi will miss this match for some muscular problems.

FC INTER - Adriano

Headline says, "Dear Inter this time I won't betray you."

Anna Italia Opinion - I agree with the article saying that ADRIANO is not yet on the throne as the "Emperior" but he is on his way to conquer his position again. Adriano himself said it.  Interesting because this interview was also shown in La Domenica Sportiva and Adriano seemed honest.  This is good because Inter have waited patiently for him and the least thing Adriano can do is to mature and take his career serioulsy.  Hope Adriano won't betray again the trust of his teammates, fans, and now even  coach Mourinho who wanted to keep him in the squad.

The point is that Adriano knows he already betrayed everybody by promising to change and did the opposite.  He continued with his night lifestyle and even missing training.  Adriano, declared "No, the Emperor has not returned yet, but is coming back. Slowly working with serenity and humility."

I hope Adriano really returns to be at his best shape.  What do you think?  Will he do it?
. illy coffee - 2 cans, 2 mugs for just $26.

AS ROMA - International Friendly and Transfer Market

Headline says, "Roma in shock losing 5-0 in London.  On Wednesday the response from Baptista."

Anna Italia Opinion -  I agree 100% with the article that it was a TOTAL SHOCK seeing the Roman gladiators being beaten so badly!!!!!   shocking to see how the goals came about by amateur errors.  Tottenham played around the gladiators who did not look as gladiators but puppets from Tottenham.  You might think I am being too tough on Roma, but come on.... are you looking the result?    Did you see the math?  It is just shocking.
Tottenham 5 - 0 AS Roma

Regarding the transfer market between Roma and Real Madrid, finally, the last word will be heard this Wednesday.  If Real Madrid doesn't accept Roma's offer than, Roma better start looking fast for any other top shot available forward because even Malouda from Chelsea seems not a concrete transfer.

Pietro the answer is RONALDINHOMANIA don't you think? I think the headline would have been the Azzurini where Ronaldinho it is right now.

      Putting that aside.

Football, Brazil is growing in every match but watching the reruns and videos I also think the Azzurrini are growing and even giving better show. Don't you think?

I agree with you about the front cover, I was expecting a bigger space for the Azzurrini.

Mark, I agree Brazil is playing better and also our Azzurrini. Brazil and Italy already qualified but the thing is to be the first.

Juventus, man, even if they missed Zanetti and Camoranesi, i think Juve is still strong wiht THE SAINT LOL and the 4 strikers. I would worry if THE SAINT wont play, then i would say man, they are in deep problem LOL

Fiorentina: If Fiorentina pass this test tomorrow then, they can do it. Anna, i also want to see Gilardino scoring often. How about Pazzini not in the list? Donaldel he is good for midfield. Gamberini? man, i think so.

What's your take guys. I will continue catching up with the others and yuo guys replied so we can all finish by 7 our deadline LOL Nina,is not here to give a helping hand, man, NINA WE MISS YOU girl.

Guys, I hope this time Adriano won't betray us because I was so disappointed with his promises, womanizing and drunkeness that lost respect for him because he lost respect for our Inter, our colors.

This time I will give him another chance but not more after this and hope Mourinho won't be disappointed either.

I totally understand you because I used to be fan of the EMPEROR but he lost me when he started disrespecting football with his drinking habits, bad companies, and partying almost until the morning. No wonder Mancini lost respect too=, its up to Adriano to change.

        Good day.

Good afternoon guys, I’m sorry I couldn’t make it this morning, I had to work, but the nice thing about working early in the morning(like 5 or 6 am in the morning) is that you get off work early in the day, 1pm! Not the same without you guys online though. I know we were all here yesterday morning for the Azzurrini’s game, but I missed you all already.
I’m so proud of our Azzurrini, and glad that the Chinese are making them feel at home. They adore Little Gio from what I’ve seen so far and that is a good sign. Also proud of our Patino, and good to see Dinho improving, I’m not as optimistic about him as I am of our little duck, but I’m glad he is improving for Milan’s sake.
Adriano is pleasure to watch no matter what team you root for. Let’s hope he keeps his head for Mark’s sake. I’m sure with Mourinho is charge he won’t get away with some of the things he used to doing. Not crazy about the so called “special one”, but one cannot deny that he is a great disciplinarian and a great motivator (dare a cesare quell che A di cesare) I know Mark will like my praise for his inter coach, but I must give credit to Mourinho for his ability to control his players.
I will be rooting for la viola and Juve in the CL, though more concerned about Fiorentina’s game; I hope juve doesn’t take their game too lightly either.
Roma are in the same mess as us, but a 5-0 loss against the hotspurs is a disgrace, at least we lost to Chelsea.
Nothing to do with Soccer, but I thought it is worth noting that our athletes at the Olympic games are doing us proud, we have tally of 8 medals which puts us in the 4th position behind China, South Korea, and United States. Pretty impressive! Sure Del piero is proud of our team. Forza Italia!
Here is to hoping the tricolore flying high in China more often and to hearing our anthem even more and more.

Nina sure is happy because she and I were sharing comments on which young GK Milan can get and she suggested Viviano!!!!

I've already predicted Juve to make Semi and I hope they will even make final!!!!

I hope Adriano will make a great comeback because he is the true Emperor!

Roma was so disappointing I hope they make a great comeback!!!!
