Day 2 - Men's Football Category - Group D
SITUATION: Italy has 3 points winning the first match
A victory against Korea qualify Italy
to the quarterfinals and avoid meeting
Brazil until the Semifinal / finals.
FIRST RESULT: Honduras 0 - 3 Italy.
Wow, match just started and the Challenge for the Azzurrini is to win this match and be the top leader.
Italy head coach Pierluigi Casiraghi opted for Lazio forward Tommaso Rocchi in the starting 11. Cagliari striker Robert Acquafresca goes back to the bench.
Interesting, Casiraghi chose the Christmas Tree formation 4-3-2-1 with: Viviano; Motta, Bocchetti, Criscito, De Ceglie; Montolivo, Cigarini, Nocerino; Rossi, Giovinco; Rocchi.
I am glad that Bocchetti is back after he suffered the cramps in the match against Honduras. So, now, the lone striker is Rocchi. Come on guys... Forza Azzurrini
In the 9th minute, wow, first chance to score for our AZZURRINIII Who else? Our midfielder Sebastian Giovinco shooting directly to the net but South Korea goalkeeper Jung saves! Hey, this is a nice try, I love an aggressive Italy, more offensive than just waiting for the catenaccio. Good, I like this attitude.
Just a minute later, in the 10th minute, Tommaso Rocchi comes close to score after gettting an assist by Nocerino but was stopped for being offside.
Wow, what, what, what!!! Yes,, guys,,, it is the 15th minute and GIUSEPPE ROSSI scores!!!!! PO PO PO PO. I am so happy we are winning this early!!! Yes, awesome. The whole combination was first with Riccardo Montolivo sending the pass to Rocchi who shoots bu the ball is deviated by the Korean defenders. Then, coming at the right time and at the right moment is ROSSI and without wasting time shoots the ball and blast South Korea goalkeeper Jung!!!! This is heaven guys.
Italy 1 - 0 South Korea

China, 2008 Summer Olympics Beijing Men Football Group D - Giueppe Rossi celebrates his goal giving Italy the lead in the 15th minute.
Now, I am not liking this anymore... the Koreans are pressing our Azzurrini. Oh, oh, oh... The Azzurrini better wake up and be alert because we might risk the chance to suffer an early goal.
Wow, yes, yes, yes, and a million yes!!!! GOOOOAAALLLLLLLL In the 31st minute, Tommaso Rocchi scores the second goal after an assist by Motta. Rocchi was unmarked inside the area and hello, hello, no time to hesitate and he blast South Korea goalkeeper Jung!!!!!
Italy 2 - 0 South Korea

China, 2008 Summer Olympics Beijing Men Football Group D - A great moment for Lazio striker Tommaso Rocchi scoring the second goal of Italy in the 31st minute.
Second half starts
Oh no, no way! In the 58th minute the Koreans hit Giovinco in the face! Our Baby Juventus cannot be treated like this, excuse me.... the referee not taking any action???
First change for the Azzurrini, in the 58th minute.
Tommaso Rocchi out, Cagliari striker Robert Acquafresca in
Wow, I totally approve this substitution. Rocchi ddi his part. Not only he scored but he was also active during the entire first half. Time for Acquafresca to do his part. I think Casiraghi did the right thing after the great appearance from Acquafresca in the match against Honduras when he replaced Rocchi who was injured and even scored a goal.
In the 65th minute, problems for Giuseppe Rossi. He had to be taken to the side in stretches but he returned to play.. Good, glad is not that serious.
In the 77th minute, Casiraghi makes another substitution.
Sebastian Giovinco out, Ignazio Abate in
Giovinco who has already won the hearts of many chinese fans leaves the field with applauses.
Well done Giovinco, we are all proud of you.
Ten more minutes guys and we can celebrate this second victory from the Azzurrini.
Wow, oops. In the 82nd minute, Casiraghi makes his last substitution.
Giuseepe Rossi out, Dessena in
Just a minute later, and Motta is suffering from cramps.
Time is running by and we have only 4 more minutes for the match to be over. This is good news Italy is winning convincingly. I like this.
Hey, hey, hey.... GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLL In the very 91st minute, our Cagliari striker Robert Acquafresca sends an assist to Riccardo Montolivo who shoots, the ball rebound, and then again the same Montolivo shoot the ball back and it is goallllllllll... close the theater because the movie is over! Italy won and put the "HAPPY END" now because it is a happy ending for the Azzurrini and we can pass to the quarterfinals!
Forza Azzurrini!!!.

Forza Azzurrini!Giovinco had a fine game with some key passes. He's prob not used to the heat here as he came from Northern Italy.
This match is a derby to me as i could not forget the horror of 2002. I sang the anthem so loud that my wife nagged at me. I was nearly murdered when Rossi scored because i almost burst her ear drums! LOL..
Giuseppe Rossi is a rising star for Italy but i believe he could had been alittle unselfish. Some of his play were abit selfish. Just an opinion.
Rocchi made me sooo Proud though im still upset abt the lost to liverpool yesterday..arrrgh.

Nigel, about Rossi, I agree, there is one particular play where if he had passed the ball,it would have been a goal for sure, but he chose to go for it himself.2002 WC was cooked.Nigel, next game lip sing the anthem lol. Glad you are supporting the little blues.
