Update on Inter Defender Marco Materazzi's Injury after the Tim Trophy Tournament

By Anna Italia

It is no secret that Inter right now are super concerned about their defense more than anything else.  The injury of Marco Materazzi  during the 2008 Tim Trophy Tournament where Inter lost both matches against AC Milan and Juventus, sent the alarm to the plans of creating the "New Inter of Mourinho."

As reported by Inter Official website, Materazzi underwent medical tests today to assess the entity of the injury sustained during the opening minutes of Inter's match against Juventus.

Not only Inter coach Jose Mourinho is worried, but also Inter President Moratti.

Moratti declared this morning that "Materazzi's injury is of course annoying because there will soon be an important match. We will analyze the situation whether Inter needs to buy new players or not. It all depends on Materazzi's injury.

Personally, I wish Materazzi a prompt recovery.  I rather see fit players battling with their teams than injured players.

Forza Materazzi.

Do you think Materazzi is still an important defender for Inter, yes, no, and why?
