AC Milan Striker Ronaldinho named Captain of the Brazilian National Olympic Team by Head Coach Carlos Dunga

Italian Soccer Serie A Congratulates AC Milan striker Ronaldinho for being selected as Captain of the Brazilian National Olympic team in the 2008 Summer Olympics Games in Beijing. Brazilian Head Coach told in an interview to the internet site "Terra that "The captain is Ronaldinho, for his experience and everything he's been through."

Ronaldinho said, 'This is a great responsibility, which motivates me a lot as it is also proof of confidence.  I am very happy.'

It i is good to know that some of our Serie A players are also representing their respective countries in the Olympics.  For Brazil, from the Italian Serie A, only 2 are playing with Brazil: AC Milan strikers Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho.



Although on AC Milan Ronaldinho is listed as Striker, the Official Brazilian called up players list has Ronaldinho as midfielder.

Brazil squad:

Goalkeepers: Diego (Almeria, ESP), Renan (Internacional)

Defenders: Marcelo (Real Madrid, ESP), Ilsinho (Shakhtar Donetsk, UKR), Rafinha (Schalke 04, GER), Thiago Silva (Fluminense), Alex Silva (Sao Paulo), Breno (Bayern Munich, GER).

Midfielders: Lucas (Liverpool, ENG), Anderson (Manchester United, ENG), Hernanes (Sao Paulo), Ronaldinho (AC Milan,ITA), Diego (Werder Bremen, GER), Thiago Neves (Fluminense).

Strikers: Robinho (Real Madrid, ESP), Alexandre Pato (AC Milan, ITA), Rafael Sobis (Real Betis, ESP), Jo (Manchester City, ENG).

      Totally agree 100% that the best football derby is BRAZIL - ARGENTINA.. the super powers no matter what.... they represent football... though Brazil lost the jogo bonito long time ago..
