Poulsen, Ronaldinho and Galliani to Convince Barca, Roma and Iaquinta, Cagliari-Catania-Palermo Start Pre Season Training, Front Page Il Corriere dello Sport, Monday, July 14, 2008

By Anna Italia

Good morning, buon giorno!  How was your weekend?

I had  a busy weekend but here I am now ready with my cappuccino to share the latest transfer markets news of our Italian Serie A.

Since the front page of La Gazzetta dello Sport today has only the Ronaldinho transfer to Milan and other non related soccer headlines, I am posting only the front page from  Il Corrierre dello Sport which is full of goodies goodies.  So, let's get comfortable, grab your cup of coffee, cappuccino, tea, juice, or water and join me to read the newspaper.

AC Milan, AS Roma, Fiorentina, Inter Milan, Juventus, Palermo, Sampdoria, Udinese

Here is the front page from Il Corriere dello Sport from Monday, July 14, 2008.

FC JUVENTUS

The top news of the front page is about the arrival of Poulsen to Juventus.

Despite the protests from some Juventus fans, Poulsen said "Juve, how beautiful!"

Only time will tell whether Poulsen was a good transfer or not. So far, Sisokko has said that they don't play similar but can be a good duo. Poulsen even scores.

Good aspect is that Poulsen is showing a positive attitude and says he will win the hearts of Juventus fans.

AC MILAN Transfer Market

The main headline is about the Ronaldinho Battle.

The paper reports that today Barca told Ronaldinho that they wanto to sell his contract to Manchester City for 32 millions and not to Milan as many thought Barca approved the Milan deal.

The problem is that Ronaldinho doesn't want MORE MONEY and insist to go to AC MILAN who are offering less money than Manchester City.  Milan VP Adriano Galliani fly to Spain to talk to Barca and see if they can close the deal.

In the photo, you see Ronaldinho and Gattuso who is more than happy to have Ronnie and says that is a big signing.

I have checked the Spanish media including  Marca and they also report that Barca prefers to sell Ronaldinho to Manchester City to get more money.

The point is that Ronnie arrives today in Barca as well as Galliani and the business might be close either for Milan or Manchester City.

Pre Season Training for 3 Clubs

No more vacation as states the article. Cagliari, Catania and Palermo will start their pre season training today.

Last Season Palermo finished  in the 11th position with 47 points, Cagliari in the 14th position with 42 points, and Catania in the 17th position with 37 points.

Rumors Serie A Transfer Market

The front page mentions that Roma insists on signing Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta.
This is strange because Iaquinta already said that he doesn't want to leave Juventus despite the competition with the arrival of Palermo striker Amauri.

The news of Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard challenging Chelsea to let him go to Inter.
The latest news was that Chelsea consented to let him go but until his contract is over. In other words, Lampard would move to Inter until January 1, 2009.

Lazio still working on their wish transfer market list after signing Carrizo.

Michel Platini

Platini wants to stop the transfer market from soccer players under age.

Which news surprised you and why or which news were you expecting in the front page and why?

This might come as surprise to some of you, but out everything that the newspaper mentioned, including the transfer news regarding Milan and Ronaldinho, the best news for me is the one about Platini lobbying for anti poaching law. This is has been an ongoing problem for our clubs and I’m glad that finally something is being done about it.
Btw,what happened to Pietro and Mark?

Good morning Anna, Monica, and Nina.

Man, you were here early. I am just reading the news and where was Mark? We missed our morning coffee to read the news.

I am having an orange juice right now and waited for the pause to read the updates. Man, what happpened to La Gazzetta not having many headlines, man, at least they talked about Ronaldinho which is the main deal right now.

Poulsen and his attitude are nice because he must win the Juve fans, not like the case of Vieri and Atalanta fans.

Agree with Monica i was expecting to see more news from Roma.

Nina i also agree with Platini on protecting our minors.

Anna i like reading the paper in the morning with you and Mark, today i could not make it and was out of town after the wonderful party we had for Cassao.

      Good day guys.

Here I am guys. I missed you all and Pietro you did not make it to our coffee reading either. I woke up late and had to rush for work.

Though, I will try to wake up early tomorrow for our newspaper reading. I bought Lavazza coffee to prepare a capuccino tomorrow and have a yogurt too. I beat you with breakfast preparation. Let me know if you are login early, maybe around 6 or 6:30 a.m.? After I can't because have to prepare for work.

Nina, why don't you join us, for you is better because it's 3 hours ahead, you are in NY, right?

I was surprised not seeing big headlines for Roma and Fiorentina for their battle to get Adrian Mutu. Though, surprised me most not seeing la Gazzetta dello Sport.

Though I'm not into the idea of Poulsen at Juve, but I'll wish him all the best!

Ronaldinho, I wish he can come to Milan, I really respect him that he choose Milan though they are giving less money!!! I'm so glad money doesn't matter to him!...how many players are like that???

    I hope Gilliani convince Barca!!!!

Iaquinta at Roma? I think its better for him to stay at Juve though it seems like he'll have a challenge!

Platini wants to stop the transfer market from soccer players under age.

I don't know but I think he shouldn't because those young players need the experience!

I see Nina's point, she is right for the Italian teams because I don't think those Italian teams are doing the right thing transferring their young players. But the English know what to do on this point.

Milan99 that's my whole point on wanting Ronaldinho because at least the man said it up front that he wanted to play for Milan even if we are offering less money than Manchester City. Adebayor never said that but look for more money, who can pay more and this is why I did not like him.

Playing for Milan should be an honor for every player to be in the most important world club and prestige.

      Forza Milan.
