- Two of the players from the Olympic National Team expressed their emotions towards the 2008 Summer Olympics Games in Beijing.

Parma midfielder Luca Cigarini - The first sensation are without a doubt positive.  We are conscious to be a competitive team, a group united which is a benefit.  I have always followed the Olympics in television and now I am participating I understand the great value of this competition. We are Italy and we are going to Peking to win. Sure, we will play against other competitive teams and it will be difficult. Surely, Brazil and Argentina are the favorites, but I am convinced that even they are aware about us."

Genoa defender Domenico Criscito - . We are working very well. We are concentrated on the final objective but at the same time we are doing the training in Coverciano peacefully with the maximum serenity. This team has players who can win the Olympics, we believe it.  Four years ago Italy won the bronze, we have to target to the Gold medal."

It is interesting that I see the news about the Azzurrini because I was just watching a repeat of the Toulon tournament final between Italy and Chile.

Luca Cigarini and Mimmo Cristico are two of my favorite Azzurrini players. I just read the news about Cigarini signing for Atalanta while Mimmo was loaned back to Genoa from Juve. Cristico is one of the most promising defenders in Italy and would have shined with Juve if given enough playing time.At least with Genoa he won't sit on the bench all the time.Best of luck to Cigarini and Cristico in the upcoming Olympic Games.
    Forza Azzurrini

I am ready for the Beijing Olympics!

I'll be cheering for Argentina. I admit I have a strong feeling that Italy might be on the podium, in the top 3 (are you listening Nina ) http://fanoffutebol.blogspot.com/2008/07/ill-be-cheering-for-argentina-in.html

Milan 99, so what are you going to do, you're an Italy fan but also Argentina. Who will you cheer for in the Beijing Olympics 2008?

    Have a great day!

Lol@Monica ,from your lips to God's ears.
I would have been more optimistic if we had Santacroce in the defense, or if some of the top teams like Milan and Juve weren't stingy with their players.I would prefer Pippo upfront instead of Rocchi.
