Italian Soccer Serie A: Who is lying about LAMPARD transfer Chelsea or Inter?

Who is lying about LAMPARD transfer Chelsea or Inter?

By Anna Italia

And here we go again with the never ending "FRANK LAMPARD - INTER saga."

Just on Wednesday, July 2, the Daily Mirror considered Lampard's transfer to Inter a done deal. Yet, today, the whole thing is crumbling with Chelsea's official statement "that Frank Lampard is not for sale."

Naturally, I checked both official websites to confirm thse allegations.

Chelsea Official Website states:

"Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has received an official approach from Internazionale to discuss the possible transfer of Frank Lampard. Contrary to reports no financial offer was made.

Chelsea FC has informed Inter this morning (Tuesday, July 8) that we will not enter into any discussions regarding the transfer of Frank Lampard."

I also checked Inter Official website to get the final word about this whole SAGA.

So, here is the latest version according to Inter President Massimo Moratti regarding Chelsea denying any negotiation:

"They replied that they have no intention of negotiating, as was their right. Now we will see," said Moratti.

Point is that much was said about the almost done deal of Lampard coming to Inter as requested by Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea is clearly saying in their official release that there were no financial offer.  Then, Moratti, sustains the opposite,"This is not true.  There's an offer and we will confirm it. However, we don't want to create any big problems."  So, who is lying about this saga.... can somebody get a Script director to write the end of this story?  I just want to see the end of the movie after such an extended drama.

Moratti ends his statement by replying: "Am I optimistic? We will see..."

I would like to hear from Inter fans on whether they want Lampard or not and why?

Though, if you are not an Inter fan, have your say too and help write the end of the story.  Will it be a happy ending for Inter or for Chelsea?

Hey, I'm a Chelsea fan. I think Lampard might leave Chelsea this season. Most likely Inter. It's complicated because his contract negotiations with Chelsea have been going on for 2 years. With Deco as a new signing and Scolari wanting Kaka', Lampard's position doesn't look so secure so we'll see if he goes to Inter.

See if this sounds like he's going to Inter. I think it does:

I saw Sky Sports news today on TV and here's what Lampard's agent Steve Kutner said: "I would just like to make the position clear. Felipe had a very amicable chat with Frank who told him he always envisaged ending his playing career at Chelsea football club. He also told him that unfortunately the terms for a new contract cannot be agreed with tthe board despite discussions having been ongoing for over 2 years. This coupled with everything that happened to Frank at the end of last season means his position remains completely unresolved."

I rather have Lampard staying with Chelsea instead of Inter. I know the never ending negotiations are still going on with Lampard-Chelsea. I watched Sky Sports news today and Scolari said that Lampard want to stay with Chelsea.

The agent is trying to get more money from Chelsea so for him the more Inter talks about wanting to sign Lampard, the better will be for his final negotiation. Don't you think?

Hi Milan99, you are tired of Lampard transfer talk? Imagine how tired the Chelsea fans (like you) are! I don't think Mourinho has much do about it. It's Lampard's terms that don't meet Chelsea's terms. Mourinho is just there to take advantage of the bypass/point of no return between the 2 parties. Lampard was negotiating his contract even before Mourinho left Chelsea in 2007.

At least this saga hasn't gone as long as the AC Milan-Ronaldinho one! I'm just kidding ok.

As an Inter fan, I want to see Lampard playing with us. We already went through that he is not equal to Pirlo but he can be our Pirlo to help improve our midfield.

Milan99 let's not even think for a single second on Inter winning the Milan Derby. I agree with you that it will be a busy day in the blog during the Derby and Mark better increase his "inter fan group" because he will be alone. I wonder where is Jina the other interista? Miss her comments too.
