Serie A Transfer Market: Empoli Midfielder Luca Antonini Returning to the team of his heart "AC MILAN" after 7 years.
ItaliaTalking about "rebuilding AC MILAN," great decision by bringing back from Empoli the young midfielder and left back Luca Antonini. I was very happy to see that Antonini finally returned to play for the team he has always wanted: AC MILAN.
The transfer was completed on June 8, 2008 and he is ready to start showing his potential by helping the Rossoneri to win the Scudetto and the UEFA Cup.
I’m always been a Rossoneri’s fan,” said Luca Antonini

Just like Antonini was happy with his return, so do I! Antonini is a true milanista born in Milan on August 4, 1982. It's no wonder why he started his career with Milan in the Youth team. Too bad Milan sent him on loan to the Serie C2 to Padova, Prato. I understand Antonini was too young to be in the main team, but the guy has talent and this is why Sampdoria bout his rights from Ancona in 2003.
Well, the good thing is that Antonini got more experience and learned to play as a winger, right and left full-back, and central midfielder. Hey, you are talking boy! Milan needs versatility and fresh players.
Antonini cannot hide his happiness, “I’m happy to return to Milan, I’m very happy and satisfied to be part of the Rossoneri’s squad. For me it’s a dream which comes true. I’ve been for eleven years with the Rossoneri’s youth sector, but I’ve been especially a Milan fan forever, for this reason I’m even more proud to return to Milan."
It has been a total journey for Antonini, who just wanted to play with Milan. After he made his debut in the Serie A with Sampdoria against Perugia on December 13, 2003, the next season there he goes to another journey. Sampdoria sents him on loan from 2004 to 2007.
Finally, Milan got to senses and bought back Antonini's rights but selling half of his rights to Empoli.
Well, here, I see no problem because Antonini got a chance to mature and played in the UEFA Cup even scoring on his debut against FC Zurich by converting a penalty goal.

Antonini said, “Today I feel a Milan player, but I want and have to prove it on the pitch. I’m convinced that I can do it. Especially since I learnt to play as a full-back, a role which is ideal for me. The last time I left Milan with a satisfaction, I hope to give others to the Milan fans."
Bottom line, welcome home Antonini! Let's keep the ball rolling and show what you have learned during these years.

I think this is an excellent signing for Milan. He is young and can play in several positions as Anna mentioned. Bringing Him and my little Abate from Empoli were the best decision Milan made so far this season.Welcome home Luca and I wish you the best season ever!!!!!!!!!!

You see! This is one of the things I love about Milan. I always get the impression that the Rossoneri players really appreciate and are very proud to wear the Rossoneri jersey. So many times I've seen our beloved cousins(not!) spend on players who are looking to play at a "top club". And had other teams offered them one more euro to go to them, they would have gone there. You see it every year. We've seen some players abandon rival "troubled" team to maintain their status. You rarely see that with the Rossoneri. Credit to Ancelotti, Galliani and everyone in the front office that has helped create this culture. Bad season or not. It makes me proud that the players wear the Rossoneri shirt with pride.
