Roman Gladiator and Captain Francesco Totti MIGHT BE Ready for the Serie A 2008 - 2009 Kick Off!! Watch Photos

By Anna Italia

While checking AS Roma Official Website, I found the good news that beloved Roman Symbol Captain Francesco Totti is working at the Centro Sportivo Trigoria on his recovery from his knee surgery to heal his anterior cruciate ligament.  I had to take a pause and enjoy the news while having my espresso because Roma without Totti is like having Milan without Maldini.

Totti injured his knee during the Serie A 2007 -2008 Week 34 match AS ROMA 1 - 1 AS LIVORNO.

After the sacking of Italian Head Coach Roberto Donadoni, the press started to speculate on the possible return of not only Totti but also Alessandro Nesta with the new Italian Head Coach Marcello Lippi. Even the front page from La Gazzetta dello Sport  included the big headline on the Totti - Lippi.  For that, we will have to wait and see whether they are fit enouth and decide to return once again.

I am sure Suri will love this news. Why Suri is not here often, she is still traveling?

Man, anyway, good for Totti and if he is fit for the Nazionale will be fine but if not, time for the new generation to take over. What's your take?

Roma have easily won without Totti last season some games. So I don't think he's that indispensable. Will he be ready for day 1 of the Serie A?

    Glad he's recovering.

You are right Monica, Roma did win some matches without Totti but his leadership is beyond questions and I think Roma needs Totti. I hope he will be ready for day 1. I am sure Anna will keep us informed about Totti's recovery.

True, Roma has won without Totti but there is not a single doubt that Totti is the running motor of La Magica Roma. We need Totti fit leading all the 10 gladiators.

I am glad he is recovering quickly! He had a terrible time in terms of health issues last season. I hope he has better luck this season with those knocks. Roma needs his leadership.

Happy for Totti. He is the latest of a series of italian fuoriclassi in this post, Mazzola, Rivera, Baggio, Del Piero. I like also Mancini and Zola.
