With the elimination of Italy from the EURO 2008, my favorite team  to win the EURO 2008 is Germany.  There are no players from the Serie A  neither in Tukey nor in Germany.  Right now I take the position of our forward Luca Toni to support his teammates from Bayern Munich.

Let me tell you it was a great match!  Turkey made a great display of football taking the lead in the first half.  Can you believe that Turkey coach Terim, even started to cry after Turkey equalized the second goal.  Wow, that was a special moment for former Milan and Fiorentina  coach.

Watch the video for the highlights of the first half Germany - Turkey.

First goal by Turkey in the 22nd minute with Ugur Boral, a cold shower for German fans.

Yet, only 4 minutes later, in the 26th minute, Lukas Podolski sends the assist to Schweinsteiger who shoots from close range equalizing the score sending the fans in delirious!

Germany took the lead in the 79th minute with our good buddy from Bayern Munich Klose!  I am sure his teammate Luca Toni celebrated his goal too. Sadly, Luca could not score for Italy.

Seven minutes later, in the 86th minute, Semih Senturk scared the Germans by equalizing the score for Turkey from close range!  Wow... it was a great goal. By now, we thought we were going for extra time.... not so fast.

The golden boy from Germany right now "PHILIPP LAHM" said no, and scored the dramatic winning goal in the 90th minute!   The assist was by Thomas Hitzlsperger.

I must say that despite Turkey having many injured players, they played really well.   Congrats to Turkey for having had a good tournament.

I saw it. Well only part of it because of technical diffuculties 3 times! I didn't think a modern country like UEFA would go through that. Lehmann- he showed the whole world why Arsene Wenger put him on the bench.

I love the spirit of the Turks, they did put out quite a fight, something big teams did not manage to do.

Anna, true Terim was of the Milan family even though he was one of the worst coaches we ever had lol.Nonetheless, I'm happy for him and his team for reaching the semis.I would give the Turkish team the award of the best effort. I just read the news that he resigned. The man reached the semis and resigned while Donadoni who barely managed the quarterfinals has the face to stay.
