For what its worth, some source in England is claiming that Donadoni has already been sacked.

After watching Italy play in Euro 2008 I was very disappointed with its lack of confidence up front. I know Italy's focus is on defense first, and I agree with that, but its attacks were hesitant and constrained. Against Spain it appeared that Italy's plan was to hope for a lucky goal or win on penalty kicks. This was not how Italy played in the World Cup in 2006. Its defense was stellar, but it was also confident up front. The Euro 2008 version of Italy seemed timid, often launching long balls to Toni hoping for him to do something on his own. There was no real playmaking. For that reason alone, I believe Donadoni has to go.

Man, good to see your comment and i agree that Italy was scared not having that winning character showed in the WC2006. Too much relying on Luca and never substituting, formation, stragtegy, nothing worked for Donadoni and we are out of the main scenario. I don't want more testing time for the WC 2010, he got to go man. What's your take?

My answer is because Milan thinks with an old mentality while we Inter want young players. Arshavin, that's for us Inter!

        Forza Inter!

The problem with Milan this season is the budget set for the summer transfers. The club is in red and also will lose a lot of money by not participating in the CL.The word out there is that Berlusconi is only willing to spend 10 million from his own money on the summer transfer, and that is a pocket change compare to what some of the big clubs are willing to offer. We can't compete with Morratti's open wallet, but that doesn't mean that Inter will be better next season. They have always managed to buy the best of player/coaches and achieved nothing. If you don't believe me,ask Baggio,Ronalado, Vieri, and Lippi.

They got the scudetto because Milan was focused on club world cup and CL,and Juve was coming back from serie B,but next season will be a whole different story.I was talking about the CL league which they never managed to lift since the 60s and when they had players like Baggio and Ronalado.

Milan, you crushed me!!!! Better how dear??? We have 17 scudetti, and they have 16,and may I add that out of the 16 two we handed to them and they did not win on the pitch.
I know you are disappointed in Our Milan this season, but in our worst days Inter can only dream of what we achieved.

If I were a passionate fan of 'Gli Azzurri' I wouldn't welcome Totti with open arms. He had plenty of opportunities to play with the team since Donadoni took over. I remember Donadoni even said once that one of the games was done at the Olimpico so Totti would decide.

Besides, he's plagued with too many injuries and it takes him a few games to recover his pre-injury fitness. I don't think Totti needs to return. Stick with the new players- at least in the 'Nazionale' Boriello, Cassano, Di Natale...

    Lippi- Ok.

That's true Monica. Totti had many opportunities to return with the Nazionale and he just did not want to. Last season, Totti was on fire and could have helped Italy big time. I am more in favor of building up the "NEW AZZURRI." Players over 30 takes longer to heal from injuries which affect the team.

About totti's and nesta's return, i agree with lippi on this manner, i know italy definitely needs youngsters and half the team if not more should b eliminated, but when we'r talking about a CB and an AMF positions its different, experience matters more than age, at least in CB position. i am a huge italy fan but i hate the fact that italy always discovers players at an old age, and i wonder why rossi wasnt called for this tournament, he is a young talented player that should be paid attention.. thank god they gave chillini a chance to prove he's up to the task, and if nesta's return will deprive him of the position (assuming that canavaro is playing), then its a damn mistake!

I agree with your point. Italy seems fascinated by keeping "old age players," and not giving much chance to the young generation. However, that is changing. If you notice, this EURO we saw some young footballers: De Rossi, Aquilani, Chiellini.

Nesta and Totti already retired. Time for new generation, giving chances to the Azzurrini like Sebastian Giovinco, Rossi. A combination of experienced and young players will be ideal. Don't you think?
