I can't get over the big disappointment that ITALY is out of the EURO 2008 losing in penalties in the UEFA EURO 2008 Quarterfinals SPAIN - ITALY.

I know we all have our favorite players in the Italian National team, but let's try to be objective and rate them according to their performance.

From the scale of 1 to 10, being 10 the maximum, how will you grade each one of the players and why?

This was the formation used by Italian Head Coach Roberto Donadoni:

ITALIA (4-3-1-2)

Goalkeeper:
Gigi Buffon;
Defenders: Gianluca Zambrotta, Christian Panucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Fabio Grosso;
Midfielders: Alberto Aquilani( Alessandro Del Piero '108), Daniele De Rossi, Massimo Ambrosini; Perrotta ('57 Camoranesi );
Forwards: Luca Toni, Antonio Cassano (73' Antonio Di Natale)

Coach: Roberto Donadoni

INDIVIDUAL RATING LISTS:

Pretend you are the coach and have to rate your players with objectivity.

-  Gigi Buffon
-  Gianluca Zambrotta
-  Christian Panucci
-  Giorgio Chiellini
-  Fabio Grosso
-  Alberto Aquilani
-  Alessandro Del Piero
-  Daniele De Rossi
-  Massimo Ambrosini
-  Simone Perrotta
-  Mauro Camoranesi
-  Luca Toni
-  Antonio Cassano
-  Antonio Di Natale

Here we come to our Coach meeting. Man, i am still upset for this loss. I will be objective as you asked.

Let's see if my fellow colleagues agree with me ratings or not.

    - Gigi Buffon = 7 before the penalties I give him 9, but after penalties I took 2 points away because he took the wrong side in 2 penalties.

    - Gianluca Zambrotta - 6, the first half he did better than the second and Donadoni should have substituted him. The man was not sharp.

    - Christian Panucci 7, I was expecting more from Panucci

    - Giorgio Chiellini 10, man, during the 120 minutes he kept our house clean making many saves, he was a wall.

    - Fabio Grosso - 10 Grosso proved me wrong with his great match and not missing the penalty either. Great saves and was sharp not like Zambrotta.

    - Alberto Aquilani - 4, the match was too big for Aquilani. Hey, come on, and I like him as a player but i am being objective.

    - Alessandro Del Piero - 9, not enough time to rate him because Donadoni gave him only 12 minutes playing time.

    - Daniele De Rossi = Man, the gladiator missed the penalty and that takes points away. I give him 7

    - Massimo Ambrosini - 8 He made some fouls but those were needed.

    - Simone Perrotta = 7 I don't know why Donadoni substituted him when he was playing well instead of substiting Luca Toni.

    - Mauro Camoranesi = 9 few minutes but he made a difference.

    - Luca Toni - 1 Fellow colleagues you might think i am exaggerating but if you watch the match and all the chances Toni had to score and missing plus taking the ball directed to Grosso who could have scored, then, i rest my case. sorry, I admire Luca but it was not his tournament and my Colleague Donadoni is responsible for all the negativity added to Luca.

    - Antonio Cassano = 5, my colleague Nina might disagree but what did Cassano do? Where was all that talent? I did not see him at all, and thinking that Inzaghi was sacrificed for Cassano!

    - Antonio Di Natale 7, few playing time plus missing the penalty. I don't want to add more presure on Di Natale who had not had enough confidence from Donadoni, just like the case of Del Piero.

Ok colleagues, i wait for your evaluation too.

    Forza Italia.

I still have the heart to say
PO PO PO PO PO PO PO PO.. man, we are Italy.

I'm using the Sky Sports rating guidelines:
10: Out of this world - very rare, exceptional performances only.

9: Excellent - Top-class display, probably the matchwinner.

8: Very Good - Outstanding, very influential.

    7: Good - Impressive, eye-catching.

6: Average - No major faults, nothing overly impressive.

    5: Below Average - Some faults, out-of-touch.

4: Poor - Many faults, easy to criticise.

    - Gigi Buffon-8
    - Gianluca Zambrotta-5
    - Christian Panucci-6
    - Giorgio Chiellini-10 All through the match, cleared the ball, marked Torres. The best in the game.
    - Fabio Grosso-9
    - Alberto Aquilani-4
    - Alessandro Del Piero-7 The 2 times he touched the ball, the rest of the team didn't get there on time to support him.
    - Daniele De Rossi-5
    - Massimo Ambrosini-7- Some tough faults on Villa in the 1st half.
    - Simone Perrotta-4
    - Mauro Camoranesi-10
    - Luca Toni-4- keep the moustache. Turns out neither Ribery and Luca Toni showed how good they were in the Bundesliga.
    - Antonio Cassano-6
    - Antonio Di Natale-5
Best player- Super Chiellini, too bad Camoranesi came on too late.

I'd like to know your rankings!
