EURO 2008 Italy News - Defender Andrea Barzagli Out of the EURO 2008 for a Knee Injury!

During the training this morning towards the EURO 2008 Quarterfinals SPAIN - ITALY   in Vienna on Sunday, June 22, 2008, defender Andrea Barzagli had to stop for feeling a pain in the knee.  Immediately, Doctor Ferretti accompanied to Baden Hospital where he underwent medical treatment.  As informed by the Italian Federation (FIGC), the tests were not positive and Barzagli will have a surgery tomorrow. Injury from the left knee internal meniscus.

I feel so bad for Barzagli because he had so much enthusiasm to participate in this EURO 2008. Barzagli requested to stay with the Azzurri.
