UEFA EURO Spain- Italy News: What did the Italian National Team do today in their day off

Supposedly, the Italian National Team were going to train today Wednesday June 18 to prepare towards the EURO 2008 Quarterfinals SPAIN - ITALY   in Vienna on Sunday, June 22, 2008.  However, Italian Head Coach Roberto Donadoni rewarded our Azzurri by giving them the day off after beating  France 0  - 2 Italy.  You bet they were glad to sleep more too!  They arrived from Zurich yesterday to the Hotel Schloss Weikersdorf at 4 a.m.!!!!

Let's see what did our players do:

  • Italian Head Coach Roberto Donadoni  played golf
  • Forward Alessandro Del Piero, played golf in Oberwaltersdorf near Vienna.
  • Midfielder Mauro Camoranesi played golf  with Del Piero
  • Midfielder Gennaro Gattuso toured Vienna with his family.
  • Defender Marco Materazzi  toured Vienna with his family
  • Defender Andrea Barzagli toured Vienna with his family.
  • Defender Christian Panucci sightseeing Vienna alone.
  • Midfielder Simone Perrotta sightseeing Vienna alone.
  • Midfielder Daniele De Rossi sightseeing Vienna alone.
  • Forward Antonio Cassano relaxed at the hotel
  • Defender Giorgio Chiellini relaxed in Casa Azzurri
Did you notice how each team group hang out together?  Juventus Del Piero - Camoranesi, the Roman gladiators trio Perrotta-De Rossi-Panucci.

Well, if I get to choose who to hang out, I would have gone with the ROMANISTI because I love culture, sightseeing, and of course trying new meals. Ah, but no seafood, please.  How about you?
