- Arriving from Austria to Zurich this morning
- Training was open to the public only the first 15 minutes.
- Based on the last trainings, defense could be the same that played against Romania, meaning Gianluca Zambrotta on the right and Fabio Grosso on the left. Giorgio Chiellini and Christian Panucci as central defenders.
- Midfield: It is possible that Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo will be on the bench because he has not been at his best, leaving the spot for fellow teammate Massimo Ambrosini. Daniele De Rossi most likely to be in the starting lineup as well as Gennaro Gattuso.
- Forward: Not clear on whether Donadoni will go for the tridente 4-3-3 with Antonio Cassano, Luca Toni and Antonio Di Natale. If it goes with the 4-3-1-2, we might see Mauro Camoranesi, Simone Perrotta, Antonio Cassano and Luca Toni. It means that Del Piero might start from the bench.

I am quite surprised you state the form of Pirlo has been poor. The British press were raving about his performance against Romania, but then the press here are not noted for their knowledge and understanding of the continental game!
I would like to see Di Natale and Toni forming part of a three-man attack and I feel Italy will win. I don't think it will be enough for them to go through though.

Gav, I love Pirlo but he was not at his best in the last match. Even the Italian media (Gazzetta, RAI, and so on) mentioned that Pirlo needed a break. According to Gaetano Stefano from La Gazzetta, Donadoni might bring Ambrosini in his place too... Well, who knows... I want a tridente Del Piero, Cassano and Luca Toni.

OH COME ON DOESN'T HE LEARN HE NEEDS DEL PIERO????

Tactical choices force Donadoni to start with Cassano and leaving Del Piero out because he is most likely on:
4-3-3 = Cassano, Di Natale and Luca Toni
4-2-2 = Cassano and Luca Toni.
I think it is a mistake. If it goes for the 4-3-3, instead of Di Natale, Cassano and Del Piero should be there because they have proven better understanding on the pitch.
Whoever goes, good luck, because we need to win.
FORZA OUR STRIKERSSSSSSSSSSSSSS and let's not forget our "Headmaster" Panucci that might deliver a goal too
