After the Second EURO 2008 Match  Italy 1 - 1 Romania., Italian Head Coach Roberto Donadoni had to go back to training and study again his strategy and formation for the crucial match DO OR DIE  France - Italy.

Here is a summary of what happened today Saturday,  June 14,  2008  with our Italian National Team preparing for the Third EURO 2008 Match France - Italy  on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Letzingrund Stadium in Zurich, Switzerland.

  • h. 11.30 Italian National Team Training (open to the press)
- Donadoni had a morning training with the Azzurri and tested again his players for the possible formation against France.

-  Analyzing the possibility of having Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano in the starting line up. Will be checking Cassano during these trainings prior the match on Tuesday.
  • h. 14.30 Press conference with Italian Head Coach Roberto Donadoni  at Casa Azzurri
- When Donadoni was asked about the match Netherlands - Romania, he said that he thinks Coach Marco Van Basten is an honest  man and will play their match as they have been doing in the past 2 games.
This was in reference that Italy not only depends on winning against France but on Netherlands beating Romania.

- Donadoni insists that Italy made a good match against Romania creating many occasions and not conceding many spaces. Still laments that Luca Toni's goal was ruled out when it was regular.

-  Donadoni confirms what he declared yesterday about the referee having a bad day. "Una giornata Non brillante."

-  Donadoni declares Italy must beat France and that Italy will profit every opportunity to qualify.

- Donadoni says the most important thing is to score be it Panucci, Luca Toni or Del Piero.

- Donadoni says the team has the right spirit and motivation right now.  He did not want to say any player has failed. This in reference when being asked about Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale. Out of the 23 players, Donadoni said he already used 18 playrs and hope to use them all.


Well, today, it's Saturday and our Azzurri have 2 more days to train to their maximum level and beat France. 

Time for me to get ready for my Ballroom Dancing Night.  See you later.... I have to dance tonight  "Mambo Italiano" still have to practice my steps and fix my dress.   I will dance joyfully thinking on our 23 Azzurri to send them positive energy.

      Thanks Nina. I had a great time at the ballroom dancing! Thought about all of you because I usually go with a group of Italians. Though among the groups there are French too! Tonight we all got into the argument on the FRANCE - ITALY match!!!! We almost forgot to dance !!!!! haahahahahahah

      Monica, good questions! Donadoni already hinted about starting with Cassano. Luca Toni most likely will be in as well as Del Piero. Maybe Donadoni will use a 4-3-2-1 Del Piero Cassano and Toni. .... wait... let me make another post... why not commenting on possible formation on the post about FRANCE - ITALY... see you there .. ciao
