Here is the front cover of Italy's top leading Sports Newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport from today Saturday, June 14, 2008, the day after the Second EURO 2008 Match of the Italian National Team Italy 1 - 1 Romania


Basically this is what it says in English:

  • Mutu dreams, Panucci recovers, and Buffon stops a penalty kick.
  • Italy plays with their heart but it is not enough: Draw.
  • Ruled out a regular goal by Luca Toni.
  • We pass only if we beat France and Romania won't beat Netherlands who are already qualified.

    I agree, heart is not enough. It's unfortunate that Italy has to play the next crucial match with a team- La France- that really wants to beat them. So, question: since the Romania-Netherlands game is at the same time as that of Italy's, Which game will focus more on? Since Italy doesn't depend only on its own results.
