Alberto Gilardino Transfer and Presentation A Success with Fiorentina Fans "Was it destiny to return to Fiorentina?"

By Anna Italia

After the success transfer from AC Milan  to Fiorentina from striker Alberto Gilardino on Wednesday, May 28, the official presentation on Thursday, May 29 was also  a total success.

Here is Alberto Gilardino and Pantaleo Corvino.  Gila speaking as a new Fiorentina player.

Was it really destiny that Gilardino return to Fiorentina?

It took 12 years since he made the first test for the Fiorentina Under 14 in 1996, now, in 2008 he returns like a professional player.  Fiorentina reportedly paid a 14-million euro for Gilardino  for a five-year deal worth 1.65 million euros per season, plus bonuses and incentives.  Wow, that's a lot of money!!! Let's hope Gilardino will make it in Fiorentina.

Here is Gilardino posing with his jersey at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, his new home!

"I am very pleased because I've come to a club that is full of ambition and where you get to play in the first round of the Champions League. I am in favor".

When asked about his new teammates, Gilardino said that he was happy to see again Adrian Mutu and Giampaolo Pazzini.  Gilardino acknowledges that the first objective is to play the preliminary of the Champions League. "

Good thing for Gilardino is that he already know Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli training system because he was the coach when playing for Parma.  Hopefully, there will be a good connection as they remained friends.

Regarding Milan, Gilardino mentioned that "we parted on good terms.  It is a great team, I won a lot there over these past three years and I've left a lot of friends behind, some of them important ones, and a great group. During these negotiations Milan helped us as well."

Pantaleo Corvino made the official presentation giving Gilardino his new Jersey "La Viola."

Do you think Gilardino will be a top striker with Fiorentina or will he find mental barriers when competing for a place against Mutu, Vieri, Osvaldo, and Pazzini?

I've got the same feeling seeing Gila with another Jersey. Though, it was a good transfer for him and Milan. It was clear that he could not make it in grand style despite having 3 years to prove it even when Sheva left. Maybe he will do better with Fiorentina.

I have good memories from Gila and as a Milan fan just thank him for his contribution.

Yeah,it felt great, and I have no respect for them. They are arrogant brats. Did you not hear that Wayne Rooney said Kaka did not deserve the golden ball last year? They have no class the whole team starting with their arrogant coach SAF.

Good luck to Gilardino with Fiorentina, it will be a battle between Pazzini and Gila for a spot because Mutu is without doubt the number one striker for Fiorentina.
